Sox acquire Jeff Samardzija and Michael Ynoa
I would almost rather give up Anderson than Semien, especially if Oakland values Anderson over Semien to the point that they would add a prospect to the deal. Semien has a reasonable chance of being a positive-WAR full-time starter at several different positions in 2015.

I wonder if any Baylor/TCU fans have changed their minds about that offensive PI call against ND

UVa gang rape accusations
I would never demand that the victim have a standard of accuracy in order to file a criminal complaint with the police, but I would demand that there be a standard of accuracy before a journalist publishes the victim's story. I would think that the UVa frat is going to get a nice settlement from the magazine over this.

Kenny Williams discussed as CEO candidate in Toronto
Can Reinsdorf trade KW to Toronto for Mark Buehrle + cash?

Kenny Williams discussed as CEO candidate in Toronto
OK, thanks for the clarification. So basically Toronto wants to hire KW a job that he couldn't have with the Sox without buying a substantial portion of the team. I think the Sox with KW >> Sox without KW, but I also think if KW wants this job then JR doesn't really help anything by standing in his way.

Kenny Williams discussed as CEO candidate in Toronto
So with the Sox, one of the ownership group acts as the CEO of the team, but in Toronto, the ownership group hires it out, that's the difference?

MLB Network
I don't think MLB Network streams their broadcasts online.

Kenny Williams discussed as CEO candidate in Toronto
I guess I'm trying to understand the operational differences between KW's current position and the position with the Blue Jays. Seems like he's the boss of the GM in both cases.

Job Hunt Thread
I guess I should add that going to this interview costs about $100 for a babysitter since I would otherwise be home tomorrow plus another $35 in gas for the round trip, so it's not really worth going on the interview if there isn't at least a chance I would accept the job.

You don't even have to play good teams. Play teams that go 8-4 in the MAC or Sun Belt or 6-6 in the ACC or AAC. That boosts your schedule strength without creating a high risk of losing.

Gerardo Parra
I could see him as a last resort if the Sox can't sign Melky or swing a trade for a LF, but I wouldn't sign him right now and call him my starting LF.

Sox Sign David Robertson - 4 yr, $46 mil
I have a lot of family who are Tigers fans and every single one of them hates Coke with a passion.

Had Baylor played teams better than SMU (1-11 playing in the AAC), Northwestern St. (6-6 playing in FCS) and Buffalo (5-6 playing in the MAC), Baylor would have benefited from NOT having a title game.

Sox Sign David Robertson - 4 yr, $46 mil
If the Sox are willing to give up their 2nd round pick to get Robertson, then there is no reason they shouldn't be willing to give up their 3rd round pick to sign Scherzer or Melky.

Sox Sign David Robertson - 4 yr, $46 mil
That's a lot of money to tie up in a reliever, but if he's as good as he has been for even three of the four years, it will pay off huge.

The Rams beat the Redskins 24-0, but that wasn't the best part of the story. Rams head coach Jeff Fisher sent Stedman Bailey, Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Alec Ogletree, Greg Robinson and Zac Stacy out to midfield to handle the coin toss. What do those six players have in common?

Job Hunt Thread
Have an interview scheduled Tuesday for a pretty good position with a for-profit national technical college chain based in the Indy area. While researching the company, I discovered that they essentially trick students into taking out more loans than they can afford in order to get them enrolled and a lot of the students default on the loans and many others end up with severely damaged credit. Is it even worth going to the interview? I have a hard time seeing myself working for such people.
