  1. Good stuff. Now I go back to not giving a shit until our hitters play.
  2. The nightmare inning against the Cubs continues. But he K's Bellinger!
  3. Gio coming in. I hope McCann's back there to catch him. That'd be cool.
  4. So we suffer through that pointlessly long inning to get to the only part that we care about, and the entire focus gets put on a pointless interview from some guy we don't care about, as our first dude chops out and our second strikes out on three pitches in the background. This experience was...underwhelming.
  5. I didn't really listen to him, but between the prepubescent voice and his appearance, I can see why they called him the Kid. He's almost 50 and could probably pass as a college freshman.
  6. Weak groundouts for both of our guys. Not too familiar with the futures game- are they likely to get more ABs or are they going to be taken out after an inning or two like the MLB ASG?
  7. I forgot he was still up, honestly. That's what happens when you go 1 for 45.
  8. This will mean more to me if it was happening with consistent playing time. I'm not surprised he's not hitting anything right now, when he only plays every third day.
  9. I'm fine promoting Robert all the way if it means I never have to see Charlie Tilson again.
  10. I fear they'll do something really idiotic like demote him back to AAA when Castillo returns. I thought Alonso's DFA was the signal for him to play full time, and then they started DHing Rondon and Palka. It's infuriating.
  11. If I was Hahn, I'd pull Ricky aside and tell him he'll be unemployed if Collins doesn't end the season with 76 total games played (barring unforeseen injuries). It's a dick move and it probably interferes with your manager's duties, but when your manager is a complete idiot, shit like this is necessary. And if you're not prepared to be hated, you're not prepared to lead.
  12. Ugh. Don't remind me. It makes me want to beat someone with a stick.
  13. True, and I've beat this horse pretty well dead, but unless we are accepting that he can't hit lefties and will NEVER be able to, we should play him against lefties. Yoan sucked against lefties last year, but we didn't force him to drop switch hitting or just not face them, and now, he's doing better at it. That won't happen and Zack won't learn if we just avoid the situation entirely. And it's pretty shitty to ensure a first rounder has a future as a platoon player.
  14. It doesn't help, AT ALL, that he's played seven games in about three weeks of being on the MLB roster. His handling has been disgusting.
  15. Communicate, you two! Before somebody gets hurt. And how did that go that far, anyhow?
  16. Awesome, dude. Have fun! It's been a while, but my dad lived in London when I was a kid so I visited often enough. Let me know if you have questions.
  17. If you want to be entertained...get a dog! Just messing with you. This is brutal. I'd rather watch a documentary about the chemistry of paint drying.
  18. Thanks for answering, but honestly, is that worth the pay off? I really don't think so. Good relievers can deal with any sort of hitter and LOOGY types are accepted as just that anyhow. Don't overmanage, which this is, IMO. Force them to use more arms with patient ABs and by doing offensive damage.
  19. Well that's a pretty awesome deal if you can tolerate living like that. Similarly, the military makes you go through some shit, but it pays off. My kids just turned 2 and 4, and while it sucks being apart, we've been able to go to Hawaii, Florida, and Ireland because of this deployment's income. Speaking of which, did you go to London/Paris yet or is that still down the road?
  20. I've never understood the "L-R game". Yes, I know lefties hit righties better and vice versa, but what's the point of alternating them in the lineup? Is it so late in a game one reliever of a certain handedness can't come in and mow down consecutive batters at a disadvantaged handedness? I don't get it. Especially when it's adhered to so technically to put a budding young slugger behind Jon Jay.
  21. Wow, that seems like it'd be rough but to each their own. I oversee a large area with Soldiers in several different cities. Some of them have kitchenettes in their rooms which makes me a bit jealous, because the hotel in my headquarters city doesn't, but I've gotten quite good preparing a variety of meals with my George Foreman. So it works out in the end, I suppose.
  22. Military "deployment" to support CBP along the US-Mexico border. I've been down here about a year and got a few months to go. It's not too bad- I drive home to DFW to see the family every couple of weeks, and the hotel pool has a bar, haha. Plus I like the work.
  23. @TomPickle @soxfan49 Much thanks to both of you.
  24. I live in a hotel with no MLB network. Any where else I can watch?
