  1. Yes, it is. When a guy goes 6IP with 10 Hs and 4 ERs, you don't send him out there again. But hey, it's cool, it's not like our manager is completely awful at everything, and he should totally be defended after the occasional fuckup. And I really wish the Tigers would stop hitting things to the LF corner. Eloy is getting exposed out there.
  2. Yeah, Eloy needs to speed up out there. This is brutal. He's gonna be a full time DH in no time.
  3. If Jones wants to get hit, next time he should get hit in the ribs.
  4. Eloy ABs are quickly losing must-see status for me. Just like Yoan's last year. Hope that changes. Tim's, on the other hand...
  5. Is it just me, or is Eloy really slow at getting to balls in left?
  6. I'm finally getting around to reading the Twitter reactions to this thing yesterday. So much of it is amazing, and I love seeing our team get this positive reaction from all over the place. I really enjoyed reading about Randal Grichuk's beef with TA, which in turn led to this tweet: Now, while it is mostly enjoyable, the people who are making it into some sort of race thing are awful.
  7. The difference is that Sosa did that garbage. Every. Single. Time. That's why he did stupid things like getting thrown out at second, because he did the stupid hop on hits that were far from no-doubters. Every single person in the park knew that was gone when Tim hit it. He killed it. I'll have a problem if Tim starts doing it on hard hit balls that stay in the yard, because that looks idiotic. But to do it once on what will probably be one of the longer homeruns of the year? Go for it!
  8. This is an awesome post, especially the bold. Tim Anderson is a good, hardworking dude. Dennis Rodman is a repeated drunk driver with some funky off-field issues who is most famous to the young generation for shilling for one of the most brutal dictatorships on the planet. The comparison is INSANE. Thanks for pointing that out. Anyhow, I'm gonna remember this date so I can come back and watch this, just like I remember September 20th 2005, so I can keep watching Joe Crede beat the Indians. Some people here need to chill out. Anyone who knows me and reviews my post history knows I'm living in 1952, but I'm not old school on this one. If the "douchiest" thing Tim Anderson does is rub it in the other team's face after murdering baseballs, I not only accept it, I encourage it! He is easily my favorite player on this team. I haven't liked a player this much since Frank Thomas.
  9. I don't have pride in being white. I have pride in actual things I've done, but not in being white. That trait of mine was determined hundreds of years before I was born, so to be proud of it would be idiotic. That said, I'm not going to see myself or my beautiful, innocent, three year old son generically smeared for that completely meaningless trait. Like you said, we're all human beings. Stereotypes are BAD. Not just when they're against black people, or white people, but against ALL people. See and respect the individual, dude. Jeez. When Tim did the cockiest fucking thing I've ever seen in baseball, and I practically had a sportsgasm, I didn't think this thread was bound to turn into some sort goofy fucking race war. Awesome. New heights, SoxTalk.
  10. I really hate that this team is going to let Tim's badassery down. I blame Abreu and Jones. Total bullshit.
  11. Dude, I agree with your initial point, but bringing the race stuff into is stupid. Just let it go.
  12. You're right. Bashing your own race isn't racist. It's just kinda...sad.
  13. I think we'll win this one, honestly, but with Tim and Yoan gone, our offense just seems so boring right now. I think Eloy is going to be great, but he's quickly wading into Moncada-2018 territory (as far as being a must-see, I mean). I think he'll do some great things, but the shit swings on some of this breaking stuff really kills my need to watch every single at bat. He'll grow, but with the two super must-sees out, I'm ambivalent about whether I need to see all of this one. Ugh.
  14. What an embarrassing 3-4-5 sequence right there. I'd show emotion about it, but the SoxTalk police might give me a talking to. Whatever. These pitiful fucks make me excited for the damn conference call I gotta participate in right now. Adios!
  15. Maldonado is really a king douchebag. He made that shitty throw to nail Moncada, and he was one of the baseball cops who was pissed at Anderson. Congrats on your .637 career OPS there, dickhead. Why don't you shut the fuck up?
  16. WTF do you mean Moncada is out for ten days? WTF is that??!??!
  17. There is nothing I like about Ruiz. And can we just DFA people who let Billy fucking Hamilton get on base? Let him on and he's pretty much a guaranteed run, but he hits like my mother. Sit his ass down. How hard is it?
  18. This should get endless upvotes. Shitty relief pitchers the world over can point at the sky and chest thump over an event that a given team achieves 10-15 times a game, but a rising star hitter can't show some bravado over demolishing a baseball? No. I don't accept those rules.
  19. Fuck Yolmer and Engel too. Yeah, I get that they blew the call on Sanchez, but don't swing at balls in the fucking dirt. Same advice for the Royals- I get that y'all are mad, but maybe you shouldn't throw meatballs to a guy hitting .440. By the way, has that ball landed yet?
  20. This is such fucking bullshit. Tim got ejected because of the bat flip. He didn't do jack shit when Keller was menstruating all over himself this inning. So he got thrown for a situation that was done except for the shittiest team in baseball's sense of butthurt. Fuck this shit.
  21. Joe West should be banned from baseball until he has an actual neck. Fat fuck. And fuck Mitch Keller. Little b****. We're gonna donkey-punch that garbage-ass bullpen. I hope Yoan wins it and uses the bat as a cane to walk around the bases. Fuck the Royals. I hope they draft 1-1 for the next thirty years and get nothing but Hochevar clones.
  22. I know. I exaggerated by saying "terrified", but that's what my mind goes to when I see this repeated multiple times. Just want him to start lifting the ball and be done with it.
