It's on MLB.com. It was the Greiner homerun. That's how dumb it was. He jump kicked the fence on an easy homerun.

I wanted the Fulmer pick. Wanted it going in, was happy when it was secured, yadda yadda yadda. Never thought I was cheering the acquisition of a long-term mop up man and perennial DFA candidate.

Yeah, that'll be great. Collins, Zavala, Sheets, probably Burger, maybe Adolfo, all future 1B/DH types. Nowhere to fall back on from there. No value outside the bat. That's what we need.

Just saw Eloy's goofy ass leg kick cum foot sprain. How is he ever going to post decent WAR with defense that ridiculously shitty?

4/26 Games - He's Back!
Oh, that's why nobody's talking about the guy the thread title is aimed at. He's 0-3 with 3 Ks. Quick, let's freak out at all the people who think Luis Robert should spend the entire year in Winston Salem. He's had 15 good games in his career and should obviously replace Adam Engel in September.

Basabe and Burdi to begin rehab at Kannapolis tomorrow
I think it's a stress issue. Birmingham is a tough park to hit in, and one of the biggest jumps in MiLB as we've seen with the current crop of B'ham OFers. Robert has had 15 excellent games at WS, but it's only 15 games. Combined with his history of getting injured (which has now happened again) and mediocre on-field performance before this SSS, we should not increase stress on him. Let's see what he can do at that level for a full season, or at the very least, much more of one.

Sure, I guess. I just don't like the way everyone freaks out about how Robert needs to be promoted ASAP and maybe even be in the OD lineup in Chicago next year when the dude can't even stay healthy. Forget about promoting him; let's just get a full season out of him.

Seriously? One of the biggest concerns about Robert is how fragile he is, and oh look, he's injured and missing several games AGAIN. This is not a good thing. The guy needs to stay on the field.

04.23.19 Games
Yolmer is a career .242 hitter with a 21% k-rate, .294 OBP and .659 OPS. And despite being fast, he's been completely mediocre at stealing bases. I get that this board hates Madrigal, but he's so much more than Yolmer will ever be.

4/19 White Sox @ Tigers | 6:10 PM CT | Rodon v Zimmerman
Yes, he homered, I know. Just because he does good things every once in a while (he's 3-26 with 8 Ks since homering twice in the Bronx) doesn't mean I feel the need to watch every one of his at-bats. He pounds the ball into the ground, he flails hopelessly at breaking balls, etc. Yes, I think he will get it together and be a star, but right this moment, there's nothing making me want desperately to watch him hit. Also, his defense in the last game sucked.

Acceptable Strikeout Rate
I'll use this thread to plug my comp tool again! Plug in PAs, number of each type of hit, BB-rate, and K-rate. It then does everything else automatically, including slash line and BABIP. This particular edition tracks what happens to someone with Moncada's numbers from last year as you drop nothing but the K-rate (player A is 2018 Moncada exactly, B drops K-rate to 25%, C to 20%, and D to 16%). The only change I made to B, C, and D is to adjust singles to maintain BABIP at .341, which was Moncada's last year (so I'm actually underestimating the improvement, since it's unlikely that the only thing a given player would do with increased contact is hit singles, and nary an XBH). Anyways, a player who improves his K-rate from an abysmal 33% to a respectable 16%, and maintains everything else, even with ZERO improvement in power, increases his OPS by .124. K-rate matters. Fuck. That ending sucked. Good job offense; pitching and defense are garbage. DFA Fulmer sooner rather than later.

I agree with this. No more chances needed. I liked the pick at the time, but he's just never going to amount to anything.

The Tigers are dead last this year with 7 HRs. We can see why. They hit like my grandmother.

Just so you know, Carson, JaCoby Jones is a worse MLB player than even you. Just FYI.

I hate our pen, but you need to give them a shot. Let Fry work through his issues on the mound. See what Osich can do. Give Banuelos a shot. "The pen sucks and so we should use a mediocre and now tired starter instead of turning to the pen" is a really terrible philosophy.
