  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) Yeah, unless you think somebody is in immediate danger, you notify your first-line supervisor first and give him a chance to deal with it, but at some point there needed to be a follow-up conversation where Joe told his boss either you get the cops involved or I will, and that clearly didn't happen. I'm sick. A kid getting raped in the showers ISN'T in immediate danger? f*** protocol. call the cops. NOW.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 12:47 AM) Does he know you insult him on the internet? haha... good one. Actually, you can count me as a member of that whacked-out minority of women who find Joakim's sick body and nerdy/socially awkward style (?) really sexy. I've been crushin' on my TA since he got here. Damned professionalism keeps me from attacking him on the daily.
  3. Where's LADYBUGS ranked?!? Rodney Dangerfield & a cross-dressing Jonathan Brandis. lol.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 11:09 PM) He should wear Noah's draft day outfit instead... well, I'm sure as hell not goin' as Stern. :/ on 2nd thought... nah. too many other girls dress up as the devil. nevermind.
  5. My teacher's aide is a dead ringer for Joakim Noah. He'll wear the Noah jersey and really ham it up with knee socks and lame basketball shorts-- and I've got a cute referee outfit to wear at school for the day.
  6. I was going to say I LOVED this quote from AJ because at least he's being HONEST about it. THEN I read the part where he backtracked and admitted to only having 'a few sips'. LOL, yeah... okay. whatever. It bothered me when Beckham got busted writing lovenotes in the dirt at third because I wanted desperately to believe that these guys were focused on the game and securing a win at all times. At this point in my tenure (?) as a fan of the White Sox, I'm much less idealistic. Let's face it, if I were aboard that sinking ship, i'd be getting plastered on the daily. ALSO, I heart the idea of Dunn being told to man up in a miller lite commercial. Let's make this happen.
  7. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) Hester should be used in about 4-6 special plays designed for him per game, not running reciever routes on almost every offensive play. THIS. absolutely.
  8. I've never been to SoxFest, but it's always been a dream of mine. I worked my way through college and grad school as a wedding planner and therefore could NEVER get a weekend off. Now that I CAN go, I'd have to skip paying rent to make it happen... and for THIS bunch? forget it. :/ I'd be down for a SoxTalk picket line, though. haha
  9. ugh... at the risk of sounding like that nerdy comic book guy from The Simpsons, ABC's new series 'Once Upon A Time' is a pretty blatant rip-off of Bill Willingham's graphic novel series 'FABLES'. I would have loved to see this storyline played out on tv, but not this way. Not when some network shreds it to bits and tries to pass it off as 'an original story brought to you by the creators of LOST'. ick. okay. that's all. /back to counting down the days til the Bulls are back.
  10. Anybody else remember Boers & Bernstein's 'Chicago Bears Amusement Park' bit? Step right up, folks... enter the park thru the turnstyle gates of our Offensive Line!
  11. This morning on WGN, Pat Tomasulo asked Kenny about today's Sun Times article portraying Cooper as a clubhouse snitch who was instrumental in getting rid of Ozzie. KW's response-- "...It's... it's just wrong. But I'm not surprised because the gentleman that wrote the article, Joe Cowley, is just simply--if I'm being honest--a liar. And I can prove it from multiple multiple articles that he's written, and I'm looking into it actually to a greater degree because it's gotten to the point to where it's cast a shadow on us and it's unfair to a lot of people."
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 06:05 PM) I like the hire but Robin came across terrible on that conference call AGREED. Initially, I thought the hire was a decent move. After the first 2 minutes of Robin's portion of the call I thought "Oh... wait a sec...."
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:06 PM) SouthPaw is quiet. Southpaw also never managed a team. Maybe we should of interviewed Southpaw. LOL. I don't hate this. Also, props for keeping things interesting... I love a good surprise.
  14. I've cursed his name at times and cried out for this moment. I know it's best for our team, but now that it's here and it's REAL, I feel like WS baseball is gonna be a lot less fun-- unless we start winning. The man said it best, "Fun is winning & winning is fun." Thank you for some good times, Ozzie.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) So I'm having a kind of f***ed up morning. My wife wakes me up early this morning talking about she can't find her car, it was either towed or stolen. This is a big f***ing deal, right? Right. So before calling the cops we go trying to find the number to the towing place for our townhome complex, she calls them and they take forever getting back but they eventually say that yes, they have her car, because it was illegally parked (she had moved her car from the normal place last night). They tell her it's going to be $275 and she is all hysterical and crying, cursing them on the phone about how she doesn't have that money and swore she was parked in the right spot. She has me all wound up ready to fight and s***, thinking my HOA (which I already hate) was letting the towing company gouge us for minor or non-existent parking infractions. Had me thinking about lawyers and s***. I tell her I have the money to get her car - what choice do we have? - but that she needs to ask if they have pictures as proof. They say they do. So I take her there to get her car, we pay. I ask to see the pictures and she is all over the yellow curb, like seriously NOT EVEN CLOSE, basically 100% in the yellow. It's not like she didn't know not to park there either, we've lived here 4 years. The curb is yellow because it's on a corner. In other words, a crisis that was completely, indisputably, totally, unequivocally her fault, but she tried to blame everybody for it but herself, and I'm the one who's accountable for it. Ugh! So f***ing pissed right now! I remember back to my mid-twenties-- when I used to BE this woman. Reading this makes me think about how aggravating it must have been to my boyfriends. My apologies, Sir, on your wife's behalf. Hope you're having a better night.
  16. When he sees a beautiful woman on the street, one glance is enough... Juan never pulls the Double-take. Juan's daughters will have the same curfew as his sons. (No Double Standard there.)
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) I tell you what, I was at the blackout game, and that was better than all but maybe one other game I have ever been to. THE BLACKOUT GAME. best night ever. Swisher ran out spraying cheap champagne all over, and KW and Coop signed my game ticket after the win. Hundreds of people dressed head to toe in black SOX apparel moving across the bridge over the Ryan... it was really something.
  18. I love this idea. I think I'll try to recreate it next time I'm at the cell. Now to think up a code-word that's JUST CLEVER ENOUGH...
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:24 PM) I doubt theres much difference but got Madden 12 today. the 26-year-old male gym teacher at my school called out sick today. he's totally at home playing Madden, I just know it. Live it UP, Coach P!
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) Imagine if they infused this talent earlier. THIS. times 49.
  21. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 10:07 PM) good lord...thank you home plate ump. lol
  22. I realize that this is a 2011 films thread but I just have to say that if the ending to Higher Learning doesn't leave you crying real tears, then you--Sir or Madame--are no kin of mine. Encore should have warned me.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) OMG, I just saw this... YEARLY?!? $600 was about my MONTHLY expenditure on alcohol throughout grad school. My cohort and I just about became alcoholics toward the end---best year of my life.
  24. FINALLY-- after years of transitioning through Corona/ Miller Lite/ Heineken, I've finally found MY drink. I'm in love with Julian Hard Cider! It was a server's recommendation about 6 months ago. (thank you, random bar for being OUT of riesling.) It's the only thing I'll drink now, but I've only found it served at the Village Tap in Roscoe Village. It is SOOO good. I hope you guys will like it too! http://julianhardcider.biz/products-julian...r-orchards-pie/
