  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 12:55 AM) This goddamn team is going to win the division. here's hoping!
  2. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) He is a class act, no matter what team he is on. Congrats to him. absolutely. WordUpThome.
  3. school starts in 12 days. I'll be thankful for the distraction from this B**ch.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) AJ better jack a homer because no way Rios is doing a thing. THIS. here we go.
  5. I was thinking about this yesterday. I wonder if they've ALREADY cut Saturday delivery in certain places?? I typically get mail 6 days a week, but for the past 3 Saturdays, I've had no deliveries--but then big stacks of mail will come on Monday. hmmm...
  6. QUOTE (The Baconator @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) I just watched Sucker Punch last night. Absolutely loved it. Anyone else? It got a 6.3 on IMDB but I think it is way underrated. I LOVED Sucker Punch. My friends ripped on me for weeks, but I don't care.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Hope Ozzie stays in Chitown with the Sox This is sarcasm, no? lol
  8. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 12:51 AM) Is this the one? I'm honestly disappointed. Except for hearing the snap, that wasn't all that gruesome. Yes, that's the one. (ewww.) I would agree with you about the Taylor/Theisman film-- I could never bring myself to watch that one either. (PS: Sorry to disappoint you, Man. I thought her skin bulging out of her upper arm was just. so. gross.)
  9. HOLY LORD. has anyone seen the deadspin video of the 2 girls arm-wrestling? I'm horrified. *I'm new to the board and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link it.
  10. I've always been a PC girl until this past year when I needed a notebook for work and grad school. I did a ton of research before I decided to purchase my MacBook Pro. I am so glad I went with the Mac over the PC! At first I thought it would cost a ton more than a PC, but for all that I got--software package, extended warranty, a year's worth of support, free color printer and a neoprene case that the sales guy threw in for me--the overall cost was comparable to the PC I was considering from Best Buy. Now, I'm a Mac girl for life. I can't even tell you how many research papers, photos, songs, FLIP videos, and everything else I've got stored on this thing and it still moves lightning fast. I'm ALWAYS on the go and this thing takes a beating like you wouldn't believe. No virus worries or anything like that, either. Go for the Mac--you'll be glad you did. PS: You might want to wait for the 'Back to School' specials starting next month. If I'd have bought when my colleagues did last August, I would have gotten a free iPod along with all the other stuff I got.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 03:27 AM) FWIW, Beckham's also the one that started lugging around a 6' tall "Most Interesting Man in the World" cut-out (the bearded dude from the Dos Equis commercials) everywhere they play and started the tradition of posing it behind the "Sox Game MVP" whenever he was being interviewed. At least Beckham was clever enough to joke that it very rarely leaves Konerko's locker these days. "I don't always root for a crappy team... but when I do, I root for the Chicago White Sox." (as seen on another message board RE: the locker room cut-out.) LOL
  12. Is it wrong that I'm not so much bothered by WHAT he wrote in the dirt as I am that he found the time (and in-game 'focus') to dig around in the dirt like a silly 8-year-old? I'm all for the shaving cream interview pies and practical jokes when the players are earning their paychecks, but I'm simply OVER these (slumping--or just not giving a crap anymore?) guys goofing all all the g**damned time. PS: I'm usually a very nice girl, really. For years I've been criticized for having 'too much hope' and drinking the kool-aid. By now though, this team's broken my heart so many times I feel like I'm becoming a cynical b**** as a result. I'll try to keep the posts more positive in nature from now on.
  13. /went to the teacher store to pick up stuff for my bulletin boards today. Got all excited when I saw a White Sox pennant and banner set. (I've always wanted to devote a corner of my 6th grade room to my team--maybe send some subliminal messages and inspire a new generation of South Side fans.) 30 seconds after I put the $25 set in my cart and started to walk toward the cashier, I thought about the bull**** laughter and joking I witnessed last night in the Sox dugout after ANOTHER loss to our rivals. If they don't care anymore, neither will I. I put that mess back on the shelf. "Giving up the KoolAid, 101".
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:50 PM) Don't like the report that D. Boston and Edwin Jackson were in the dugout at the end of the game joking around and laughing. Not when you've just lost 30 out of 37 games to your main rival. They absolutely WERE laughing and joking as they left the railing and headed inside. I saw it and my immediate reaction was to throw the remote at the screen. I'm so pissed at myself for falling for this crap AGAIN.
  15. i'm just effing disgusted. My grandmother and I ALONE could beat the sox--as long as we strolled into the cell wearing twins away jerseys. I don't know what the answer is... but they'd better damn well find it. and SOON.
  16. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) tired of hearing the very worn out 'i cant believe dunn just forgot how to hit after 9 years' nobody is saying he forgot how to hit, he's just SO f***ing wrapped up in his own mind, overthinking and overanalyzing that its become a detriment to his ability the ONLY way he comes out of this is to keep getting him ABs, unfortunately Picture it. All-Star Break, 2011. A Native American sweat lodge in the middle of nowhere. A naked Dr. Phil (Jackson?), Steve Stone, and Adam Dunn's tortured mind... Eureka!
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) I didn't understand the insane amount of coverage either. Maybe it has to do with her being a sort of typical average suburban American? She wasn't a gang member who killed someone, she wasn't some hillbilly house wife that shot her abusive husband. She was the sort of "everyday" girl that the majority of people in the country could relate too that did something truly awful in killing her own child. It's almost straight out of one of those Dateline crime shows. I think a lot of the attention paid to this case has to do with the sheer AUDACITY of this chick. She lived off her parents, frequently wrote bad checks, and couldn't keep a job. She murdered her own daughter because she desperately longed for the 'freedom' to booze it up in the club night after night without having to return home to care for what she obviously considered to be her own ball & chain. While her parents searched for and eventually mourned the loss of the little girl, 'mom' tried to bully everyone around her into buying one of her 14 different versions of events pertaining to the baby's disappearance and death--- while her pals tagged her in facebook photos dancing on tables and showing off tattoos inspired by her 'beautiful life'. This entire series of events is disgusting. My guess is that a majority of people want to see her get what's coming to her and that's why they tune in.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 12:35 AM) My relationship is with The Chicago White Sox. She's a cruel mistress. Hilarious.
  19. I was at Monday's game. My friends and I agreed NOT to boo Dunn when he came to the plate, but rather to cross our fingers and send this guy some (much needed) positive thoughts. We all went WILD when he got the base hit, and they might as well have clinched the division when he hit the homerun because the Cell went CRAZY. "Finally!" we thought, "A chance to turn it around." And then... we woke up. And it's right back to terrible. I'm trying to keep a positive outlook, maybe cause i'm stubborn by nature and I'm not one to give up, but COME ON ALREADY. I'm new to the board and I'm happy to be here. Misery loves company, I guess.
  20. I'm not sayin' that I would personally seek or even promote street justice, but come on-- you know she's gonna get what's coming to her.
  21. 1. How any man in their right mind could find this murderous liar HOT--or even attractive in the least-- is beyond me. 2. 2 words.... street justice.
