  1. So I should take off work tomorrow right?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 06:28 PM) https://mobile.twitter.com/CarasikS I can vouch for Scott. He's been on a football forum that I frequent. He has quite a few connections in the Atlanta community.
  3. Teams loaded with prospects...has me giddy
  4. Engel just swinging away...cool
  5. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 02:12 PM) And a thin staff as it is. Come to Papa Hahn, Rizzo...he'll make it all better. I think if Rizzo had his way this would already be a done deal
  6. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 01:51 PM) And again I'm not trying to argue. I hope you're right. I just believe we all may be let down by the return Maybe but I'm not expecting that big of a let down. That would be awful by most standards.
  7. There's not enough depth in the system to consider that right now. It's the perfect time to trade him now. Lots of players in the market for pitching. I dont think you'll get a better window until next trade deadline.
  8. I'm on the under slot wagon now...this draft blows
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 31, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) First of all, I was one of the largest proponents of acknowledging that risk, which is why I kept posting about the price increasing come the deadline as compared to this offseason. Secondly, some of the posters literally began their posts with "I hate that I was right about this." Umm, gloating. Irregardless of just how likely this kind of a dropoff was, I don't think it was anywhere near justifying taking a package that was significantly substandard just because you didn't want to carry the risk. As far as I'm aware I'm only one poster. Not "some". Also can we stick to one criteria please? Apparently we're not allowed to think that Hahn is asking for too much. But for some reason your allowed to automatically assume the package was substandard.
  10. The best path forward is hope he improves and trade him at the deadline. Done.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 31, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) We can never know for sure. All we know is the rumors that leaked out, and many of those involved teams saying their top prospects were off the table. Doubtful that those offers, if indeed those were the best offers, wouldn't be available down the road. They might not be. I think if they wait for this offseason they may have to start from scratch.
  12. The problem is what does he mean by not acceptable? Not a complete overpay or fair market value? I have a feeling and it's been said before that he wanted a complete overpay. Look at the free agent list next offseason. You think that's going to change? Lets just say he continues to struggle and doesnt get traded this deadline. His market is going to move at a snails pace this offseason if it moves at all. Chances of him getting traded this offseason I think are slim to none. Even closer to none if he continues to play like this.
  13. I hate it when I'm right sometimes. This is the game Hahn wanted to play. He's got to live with it now. Keeping him beyond the deadline didnt make sense months ago and it still doesnt. Even if he played well they would still probably need to adjust their asking price for anybody to meet it.
  14. Avi has to do it for a full year. But my oh my he's playing well.
  15. I mean Hahn must have a fetish for bad outfield defense because he loves players who cant play out there
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 04:43 PM) Most overmatched player on the Sox you have seen? I dont know about that. But I dont see any point of him being up here.
  17. So May cant play offense or defense. That's good to know.
  18. This is the game Hahn wanted to play. Good luck to him.
