QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) which would be a joke unless KW is walking out the door with him...JR won't do s***. As for any Sale trade...just do it and let's move on. If you get a slew of top prospects...it's a no-brainer. Oh they would do it. Trading Chris Sale is tricky because the compensation you need to get really needs to blow people away. Anything less and your going to be heavily criticized. Atleast with Q there's a limit you could see.

Hahn gets fired before he can even make the final trade call for Sale

It's either going to be stand pat or buy guys. They arent going to sell. Why people think that's going to happen I dont get.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) What you are describing is baseball hell and something that will set the Sox back more than selling would. When you have very few trade chips and an average payroll with not much coming off after the year, you are in a terrible spot. They will be in baseball hell if Hahn and his staff are allowed to sell off pieces. I have zero faith that they can actually scout correctly. I'd rather sit here and watch them rot in mediocrity than let them tear it down and wallow in misery for decades. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) Of course Ventura is done here after this season. Standing still just for the sake of how it looks is ridiculous. Of course, I think minds might change a bit if they are 8 out and behind 4 teams in the WC in 2 weeks Minds may change but someone is going to be held responsible for this. You cant keep saying "Next year...next year...whoops we screwed up time to start over" and keep your job. It's not happening. Let's just put the Bulls into perspective here since they were in this position. They had the chance to start over again. They could have taken a huge risk and traded Jimmy Butler to either the Celtics or Timberwolves. But they didnt because guess who stepped in? We've already played the intentionally losing game. You think they will be allowed to start again? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) You can trade Robertson and still compete in the next few years. They wasted a first round pick on a closer, might as well groom him for that They cant sell. It's definitely the end of Robin's tenure if you do that. He might as well pack his bags now and get ready to move. Hahn more than likely doesnt have authorization to do that/he would probably get fired before even doing it and ontop of it it's half assed. If your going to sell do it all the way. -

They arent going to sell. You really think they can go to Kenny Williams and JR right now as say "We give up....we're going to start trading pieces to compete maybe in 5 years?". That's not going to happen. -

QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) I want Ventura, Hahn, and Williams fired in the offseason.First priority for the new front office is to find a decent catcher and center fielder. See how things are this time next year. Start to sell then if things are still looking bleak. You think Hahn and Williams are doing a good job and don't deserve any criticism. Do I have that right? Well if you could actually take some time to read my posts you would realize how stupid your last sentence is. -

I mean if your going to do a rebuild you need to do it right. They have to fire atleast Rick Hahn. Get a whole new scouting staff/GM in here. Then that's when you trade players. After they've done their work. You dont trade them when this front office has very questionable scouting going on clearly. Getting the Sale trade wrong could definitely cause this team to move. That's how serious it is. It sets them up for 5+ years down the line. But do any of you actually think they are going to give up on this season? Robin's job is on the line. Maybe Rick Hahn's. You think they are going to stop fighting? They might as well pack their bags if they trade Q. They are going to get fired if that's their plan. Hell I bet JR fires Hahn before he could even make a trade of that magnitude. -

I'll repeat again....so everyone is mad with the team Rick Hahn assembled. But you want him to make the most important trade in franchise history. One that may decide if we are competitive in five years or go 20 years without winning. Do I have that right? -

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) I don't think we have much choice. JR won't fire anyone. This group isn't getting it done. Better to try and rebuild than waste years of Sale, Q, etc and have nothing to show for it. Except there is a choice. Dont do it. Your better off milling around in the middle than letting Rick Hahn/Kenny Williams trade any of the high profile guys. You dont trust their scouting fine I get it. But you cant have it both ways and then let them try and scout minor league players for potentially the most important trade in franchise history. -

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) They're already f***ing losing. What's it matter?! No playoff appearance since 2008. I agree this doesn't equate to more wins but stock piling young talent maybe more beneficial than this s***. So here's the question and this is for everyoen who wants to sell. This management cant build a roster. But you want to give them the keys to a full rebuild? Or is your objective to get them to move? -

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) Oh that's bulls***. I want them to win until they're eliminated. But I want them to sell because this way isn't getting it done. Can Hahn rebuild moving the main core? I'm not so sure. But I'm over this missing the playoffs being mediocre s***. I'm tired of half ass roster retools. I'd rather be excited knowing guys like Moncada, Benintendi, etc are coming up. To be honest, the most exciting things with the sox now are prospects being called up. This team f***ing sucks. Being shutout again. This scoreless inning streak against s*** opponents is embarrassing. Shame on this organization. I'll be here to root them on but I'm over this fools gold. Oh the hyperbole is ripe today -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Come on dude, you're better than this. I want the team to win every single night, but that doesn't mean I can't be objective. We're 4.5 games out of a playoff spot and have some serious holes on our roster with limited chips to fill them. While I'm starting to lean towards selling, it definitely doesn't mean I want them to lose. The two have nothing to do with one another. They will lose if they sell. For maybe a long time. Trading Sale doesnt = winning baseball. Really trading anyone on the roster doesnt equate to more wins. Not in the near future and potentially long term future. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) Is anyone wanting them to lose yet on here? Haven't seen that yet. Doesn't mean many on here don't think they can compete with the top AL teams the rest of the way and selling should be a legit option in two weeks. Did you not see the game thread yesterday? Or did you just gloss over the " Sell!!!" posts?
