White sox may be reconsidering their stance of being non sellers
Man the White Sox are leaking all sorts of s*** today

White sox may be reconsidering their stance of being non sellers
They play their cards right...they can fleece someone for our bullpen pieces. Now they probably wont...but here's hoping.

White sox may be reconsidering their stance of being non sellers
Boston could...but I would want pieces from their lineup. Not sure they would trade those.

No the real misery will be if prospects start failing...that's when the best of this forum comes out

White sox may be reconsidering their stance of being non sellers
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) #WhiteSox will have opportunities to move Zach Duke, who leads AL with 48 appearances. Signed for $5.5M next year. Many teams want LH pen. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/756165236009291776 I've wanted Zack Duke gone the moment we signed him so this would be pleasant news.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) So is your plan at this point just staying put and trying to add pieces again next offseason? Serious question. That's probably what they would do yes and if the management stays that's what I would like them to do. I have zero faith that they can actually sell guys like Q and Sale for the correct price without severely damaging our future.

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) If we're selling, we don't care who plays third base for the current team. Those home runs might get someone to bite at what is otherwise a bad player. I'm talking about next year. If you keep Sale and Q your going into next year with the same mentality as this past offseason.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) I see where you're coming from but if we're not going to trade any of our top trade chips then what's the point? Just try to reload again and again and again life we've been doing? Seems like a bad plan to me at this point. I 100 percent agree. Which is why I dont get trading Frazier. If they offload him who's playing 3rd base? I mean they arent giving up on next year I'm guessing. So trading him is silly too.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) To put the tag "untouchable" on Eaton is foolish. Nobody has a gun to the Sox head to trade anyone, but they should listen, and again, be thinking solely about 2019 and beyond. Ok well they clearly arent. So trading Eaton is silly. His value is incredible right now. Sure you listen. But that's it. No need to actively shop one of the most valuable price wise and defenders in the league.

Trading Eaton? Absolutely not.

Texas needs relief help and stay far away from Gallo(not that they would get him anyway)

Well that gives Robin a good couple of months to start packing in advance. Maybe Rick Hahn too after it's over.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) Guess the Sox are paying Morneau a million ofr a few months to be weened on RH's only . I guess...and hoping Garcia doesnt make them look any worse.

Chris Sale to Astros potential package?
QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) which would be a joke unless KW is walking out the door with him...JR won't do s***. As for any Sale trade...just do it and let's move on. If you get a slew of top prospects...it's a no-brainer. Oh they would do it. Trading Chris Sale is tricky because the compensation you need to get really needs to blow people away. Anything less and your going to be heavily criticized. Atleast with Q there's a limit you could see.

Chris Sale to Astros potential package?
Hahn gets fired before he can even make the final trade call for Sale

What to do at the Trade Deadline
It's either going to be stand pat or buy guys. They arent going to sell. Why people think that's going to happen I dont get.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) What you are describing is baseball hell and something that will set the Sox back more than selling would. When you have very few trade chips and an average payroll with not much coming off after the year, you are in a terrible spot. They will be in baseball hell if Hahn and his staff are allowed to sell off pieces. I have zero faith that they can actually scout correctly. I'd rather sit here and watch them rot in mediocrity than let them tear it down and wallow in misery for decades.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) Of course Ventura is done here after this season. Standing still just for the sake of how it looks is ridiculous. Of course, I think minds might change a bit if they are 8 out and behind 4 teams in the WC in 2 weeks Minds may change but someone is going to be held responsible for this. You cant keep saying "Next year...next year...whoops we screwed up time to start over" and keep your job. It's not happening. Let's just put the Bulls into perspective here since they were in this position. They had the chance to start over again. They could have taken a huge risk and traded Jimmy Butler to either the Celtics or Timberwolves. But they didnt because guess who stepped in? We've already played the intentionally losing game. You think they will be allowed to start again?

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) You can trade Robertson and still compete in the next few years. They wasted a first round pick on a closer, might as well groom him for that They cant sell. It's definitely the end of Robin's tenure if you do that. He might as well pack his bags now and get ready to move. Hahn more than likely doesnt have authorization to do that/he would probably get fired before even doing it and ontop of it it's half assed. If your going to sell do it all the way.

They arent going to sell. You really think they can go to Kenny Williams and JR right now as say "We give up....we're going to start trading pieces to compete maybe in 5 years?". That's not going to happen.
