QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 05:13 PM) 1.) you can have her 2.) not even in the same universe as the new mrs. My girl now - jeez, I'm telling you guys... She was named cheerleader of the year by a sports publication and is in swimsuit calendars. It's like every teenage boys dream girl walked right off the poster on the wall and into my life. It's been completely bats*** crazy lately but I feel very blessed. Thanks for the support gang - funny place to vocalize some of this and funny place to get some support. Man I really thought you were trolling earlier.

David Price just got paid... dayum! Did anyone anticipate this?

Extroverts just like random rapport I suppose. That probably doesn't make a lot of sense but f*** it.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 12:24 PM) I know, but the OP said that UIC was shut down when it was U of C that was shut down. My sister goes to U of C. She came back home for the day. The guy who made the threat is just an imbecile. I knew when he said he had an M4-Carbine and two desert eagles that the bloke has played too much counter-strike. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) It's so ingrained though. You're not getting a city council position, judge appointment, garbage collector department head job, etc. unless you know someone in the system and have paid your dues. edit: and who's our next mayor? Most likely Preckwinkle. And whose camp is she in? Rahm's. She's part of the same cog. The people of Chicago need to step up their game and put people in office that don't treat running the city like a private tea-party. If it's a R or D, it doesn't matter. Chicago is too elite of a city to be dragged down by worthless politicians. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) People who engage in lengthy political discussions (really more like monologues) with random strangers on a plane are weird. I think it's the obligatory I have to chat with the person next to me on a plane. It's political season, I imagine you'll get a lot more of that.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 11:48 AM) I don't care what party they're in. Just bring in entirely new politicians, in every spot. Even the inevitable incompetence of people learning on the job would be better than the status quo. This I can get behind. In Chicago it's not necessarily the D it's more of the clique they built over decades. If you're in that little clique, you shouldn't be able to sniff politics in this city. Enough is enough. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 11:18 AM) But don't worry! He's creating a task force! A task force to ensure police officer accountability.... you know, like the duties of the top brass at the CPD!! All is good! What a friggin' joke. It'd be really amazing if people in this city voted for unknown Republicans just once. Just to shake up the corruption for one cycle. Just one. Republicans are immune to corruption? Who knew... -
QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 07:17 AM) Terrorism is defined as violence or intimidation in the pursuit of political claims. It's not far fetched to call this terrorism among other things. It's terrorism. The act in itself is going to make people at PP clinics scared if they already weren't. I hope they beef up security to stop nutters like this in the future.

Homeland is super solid this season.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 30, 2015 -> 07:43 AM) I think it's a reference to the Sox/Royals incident last season. Aside from the A's/Royals stuff last season, I think the previous Lawrie nonsense could be chalked up to immaturity. Not that he won't act out again, but he could mature and imo has. We've seen Sox players do stupid s*** too in the past. One thing to point out about the A's/ Royals incident is that the Royals were pissed about Lawrie's take out slide. Lawrie's slid low through the bag to take out Cain but again, Lawrie slid low to take out the feet and not the knees. Lawrie even showed concern for Cain after the play. You did mean Escobar, right?

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 29, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) Hope that it isn't anything ligament. If it's bone bruise, it's slow to heal but won't usually require surgery. First Lewis, and Edelman, Amendola and now Gronk, they just couldn't' catch a break.. Well played.

That guy hits some absolute bombs. I don't know how the KBO works but are their fields smaller than the ML stadiums?

Garcia's in Lincoln Square is an excellent choice. I'm sure you could get a reservation there.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 12:16 PM) Donald Trump Says He’d ‘Absolutely’ Require Muslims to Register Looks like the Republican front-runners are doubling down on full-blown fascism. Trump is playing the game. He'll renege if he's elected.

QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 10:23 AM) I see it happen so often to where people get screwed because they didn't read their benefits and the networks of where they can go. It doesn't take too long to find out a few basic things about your coverage. 1. What is the exact name of my policy and where can I go that is considered In-Network with my plan? 2. What is my deductible (because I will have to come out of pocket this amount until insurance pays)? 3. What is my Out of pocket Max? This is the most you can come out of pocket after you have met your deductible. The percentage break down of this amount is your Co-insurance. Example 80/20 meaning the insurance company will pay 80 percent and you are left with the remaining 20 percent until you reach the Out of pocket max. Your copay amounts really are the least of a concern because those are minimal. When you are utilizing your insurance out of network is when you really get screwed because your deductible winds up being thousands of dollars more and your out of pocket max is thousands more. I understand the very basics of insurance. Those you listed I would say are the basics. That being said, I don't know how times I've followed all the rules and still ended up paying out of pocket for something. I had a routine physical and had to pay $100 for blood tests because it wasn't covered. This was pre-ACA but the sheer fact I had to fork over $100 for preventative care was preposterous!

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 10:11 AM) The lines definitely get blurred, but the Republican thread is for making or responding to pro-Republican/anti-Democrat statements and the Democrat thread is for the opposite. A criticism of Trump, if not in direct response to something already posted in this thread, would belong in the Democrat thread, though the rule doesn't seem to be strictly followed and I probably unwittingly break it myself, especially since I think they both stink. I can tone down my rhetoric but seriously, it just frustrates the hell out of me. Kasich should be the nominee and really has the only shot at appealing to voters outside of their base IMO. To me it just seems like they are trying to throw presidential elections, that's all I'm really trying to say more or less.
-
The rhetoric is definitely convoluted on purpose. I get my annual cleanings and physical and pray I never have to use my insurance beyond that.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 08:47 AM) I was beginning to wonder if I had stumbled into the wrong thread as well. I wasn't aware you had to a republican to post in this thread...

QUOTE (Cknolls @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 08:45 AM) Kind of like Narcissus and his uneducated city folk? Your insight in this thread has been breathtaking. We get it. You do not like Republicans. Post this crap in the Dem thread.... You can pretend to be obtuse on the matter but it doesn't make anything I've said any less true. Trump himself doesn't believe the s*** he spews and you know it. He's just trying to rile up the extreme base so he can be the nominee. Do you hear any other candidates talking about giving muslims IDs or building giant walls? Nope... you know why? BECAUSE IT'S NOT f***ING PRACTICAL. I want Republicans to produce a good candidate. They have produced s*** candidates for the better part of two presidential elections now. It's not good when they are practically handing elections to democrats. You see as it hating republicans, but I see it as wondering why Republicans are dragging their feet with producing a viable candidate that can f***ing win.
