What is wrong with the Royals?
  3. I don't think the Tigers get past the O's I'd like A's to win. Royals too. Pretty much any team that has been in baseball futility for a while.
  4. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) no playoffs in 6 years for either side does that He speaks the truth.
  5. I took the Royals and Giants in a parlay.
  6. Ah come on, I wanted to see what ron had to say.
  7. Noob question, but why would Sale and Q sign team friendly deals like that?
  8. Fire Ventura; get Gardy.
  9. The refs didn't make f*** up clock management at the end of the 1st half or make Jay throw two picks.
  10. I mean, the defense just blows so hard.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 28, 2014 -> 12:55 PM) This should be the last game this ref crew in Chicago does rest of year. Nelson pushes off Fuller no call on TD. I saw that too.
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 26, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) How awful for him, being forced into an all-expenses paid transfer to Hawaii just before winter arrives in Chicago. This is all Obama's fault. Somehow.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 26, 2014 -> 10:20 AM) It's like when State Sen. Obama was at a campaign fundraiser and he had potential donors treat him like a waiter - not because they were thinking hard about it, because their subconscious mind just decided that guy had the look of a waiter DONOR: "Be a good colored boy and grab me a glass of your best pinot noir." OBAMA: "Excuse me? As I was saying..." Reminded me of the time I started my old job. Most black people worked with the animals and cleaned cages all day. So when I met a person, they immediately assumed I was the new animal care worker. No b****, I'm the new chemist.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 03:24 PM) Then you know some real tools. About the only thing he could tell me he does that would make me pause would be to say he is the recruiting director for the KKK. Seriously, why would anyone be surprised at what he does, enough so that you would ascribe racist intentions to it? I think they probably don't interact with minorities that much. When they did, they probably fit the stereotypical bill. I don't think they were racist per se, just probably not very aware of the world outside their bubbles. I was the only black person at this wedding (I went with my girlfriend). I wish I had a tie camera so you guys could have seen it. I even found it surreal.
  15. This may be a conspiracy theory but what if this was the plan the whole time?
  16. If Joe Schmo did this, he'd be indicted.
  17. Tough predicament. I want the Royals to win the division but that means sweeping the Sox. How do others feel about it?
  18. I was being serious in my comment...

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 10:35 AM) Half in jest. But was your reply of "It's not a huge mystery. Just about every policy the Republicans have is not beneficial to lower-income people." and mine really that different? { edit, just realized that you didn't post what I pasted here.} Most of the issues that don't revolve around getting something from the government are semantics and framing. Raising minimum wage? Sure, might help some who get it, but many others wold be let go and even more still would have their hours cut, so wouldn't see any real benefit at all. Immigration reform? How does that hurt any person here of minority status? How does keeping out an illegal mexican hurt the poor hispanic/black.white person here? it doesn't. In fact it could help them by having more jobs available for them. War on women? Please, that is a made up piece of crap by the DNC. Not wanting to pay for birth control is not some oppressive patriarchy RNC idea to keep women in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant. And if I recall, a majority of the offenders in the news the last year or so have been Democratic office holders. (Filner, Weiner, etc.). I also recall a study done around the last Presidential election (trying to find link, but my google-fu isn't that good) that tried to find out why religious, family oriented hispanics kept voting for Democrats, and the self reported answers trended to 'we get more stuff from the Dems'. As for the whites only club, look at many of the liberal institutions, clubs and even blogs that claim to espouse inclusiveness. They are whiter than my ass in most cases. I don't disagree that it happens. I have seen it a few times, and am happy I haven't seen it more. I've seen it the other way a few times as well. Yeah I don't care for democrats either as they only do what they do for votes. I don't identify with either of the majority parties, they are both scum. Atleast Republicans are honest about their disdain for minorities (not referring to immigration). Democrats just give minorities crumbs to keep them happy. I was just simply saying that a minority candidate would probably do the Republicans good for trying to win elections. The old white guy candidate is dull and boring.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) I think the Tigers have another year or two, but who knows if age and weight are catching up to Miggy or if he's been banged up. Victor Martinez is not going to do this again and he may leave for greener pastures anyways. JD Martinez has been a revelation for them, but how likely is he to even come close to repeating the year he's had? There are a lot of question marks for them moving forward, you're correct. Still, I don't even worry about that. Depending on the moves made, I don't think it's unreasonable for the Sox to be a team projected to win 85 games next year prior to the season and at that level, it's only 4 or 5 breaks over the course of a year that can push you up to 90 wins. A bullpen that could hold leads and I think we're +10 games over this season.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 06:53 AM) It's not a huge mystery. Just about every policy the Republicans have is not beneficial to lower-income people. Yet they somehow manage to woo all of those poor and religious rednecks.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 06:00 PM) Because the Republicans don't give them free stuff, silly. Damn Alpha Dog. I generally like your posts and I really hope this one was done in jest. I'm black and I don't want free stuff but I would like it if Republicans could do without the whites only club. There may not be a sign that says it but if you look at a RNC, you see a sea of salt. I was at a posh wedding a couple of years ago. White rich people galore and definitely Republicans. They asked me what I did for a living and most of them practically spit out their drinks because they probably expected me to say I was unemployed or worked as a janitor. They are simply out of touch, that's why they can't win.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 10:58 PM) No it isn't. What is wrong with a group of people getting together at 5 p.m. every Sunday in Lawrence, Kansas, packing the pews, acting nice to each other while worshiping the entity they believe to be God? Many of you hate going to Mass/church services, refuse to go to such and like Bill Maher, do not believe in the higher power. I repeat ... what is wrong with people being polite, happy, nice to each other for an hour and 10 minutes while listening to some good music and a nice message from the priest/pastor/minister? That is not evil. I respect you all for forgoing church/Mass/religion, but I think you are missing something honorable and peaceful. You may be better than me in all regards, but I do enjoy the peace and quiet and niceness of an hour at church and sometimes more when I get in the habit of going to the 5:15 daily Mass at the local college chapel. Religion is not the root of all evil. That's nice greg, but not all people who are religious are to themselves like you and your church members. I get fire and brimstone talk from Christians; Islamists who want to gut me like a pig because I'm unbeliever; and Jews who just ignore me because I'm not Jewish therefore, irrelevant. I played a video game once where the mission was in Jerusalem, Israel. One of the people said, "Welcome to Jerusalem, the birthplace of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam." To which your character replies, "So this is where all that peace and love comes from?" QFT.
  24. Damn so what's the verdict. This s*** is better than a soap opera.
  25. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 03:42 PM) Called him weak For intentionally throwing at VMART? Yeah I would say that shows weakness.
