If we don't sweep the Astros... So help me !

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 09:23 AM) Prior to this season, Hector Gimenez had 19 plate appearances in the major leagues. He's 30 years old, meaning he's at the end of his "prime." He spent 10 seasons and amassed 3604 plate appearances in the minors for 5 different organizations. This is why I refer to Hector Gimenez as a minor leaguer, because that's all he's been. His career minor league OPS is .736. Oh, and Flowers is already fighting for his starting job. If you don't think he knows what Phegley's doing in the minors, you're crazy. I see what you mean. Would you say Gimenez has done poor on the major league considering his limited experience?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 09:14 AM) He was even worse with the pitch calling than usual, so yeah he has some of the responsibility. Yeah, Reed f***ed that one up. He has a tendency to get cute on 1-2 pitches and teams go yard on him.

And him getting bulldozed by a midget and dropping the ball yesterday was the icing on the cake.

I'm confused. I just want to know people's definition of a MLB catcher versus a minor league one. Before Flowers' offensive explosion this month he was terrible at the plate... not saying Gimenez is superior in that regard but it from what I've seen, Gimenez can sac fly and get an RBI when he needs to. I specifically remember in the Seattle series that he blocked the plate so that Seager couldn't score when Rios gunned him out. Flowers has potential but until he grows a pair he needs reduced time. If anything, he'll maybe want to fight for his starting job back and play better because he has been god awful at this point. Do you know how many times he's tried to backhand s*** when he should be blocking it with his body and how many runs it has costed? It has happened way too many times this season for my liking.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 08:37 AM) Clamoring for Gimenez because of Flowers' poor defense is quite ironic given Gimenez's 4 in less than a third of the playing time. He'd be at 12 or 13 otherwise. Just be glad Hank White isn't the Sox backup, because 8 past balls in 13 games is not so good. I am not really clamoring for Gimenez but I do think they should split 50/50 behind the plate at this point.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 11:00 PM) He's tied for 11th in the league, number one among backups. Where are you getting your numbers?
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 10:41 PM) He gives up a ton of past balls. What game?
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 10:32 PM) Gimenez please. Hes terrible but so much less terrible. I think Gimenez is a fine catcher. I'm not sure where you see terrible in the guy. He hits when he needs to and defends the plate well.

I remember watching that first pitch last year during the WS and balling. The sacrifices our servicemen and women make are just unbelievably selfless. God Bless them all. Voted.

They bailed Dylan out tonight. The Blue Jays are the bane of his existence. 3 in row!

I hope the Sox can pull it out tonight.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) Hah...thanks guys...I'm not going to do anything elaborate...probably just one night in the new house I will make my move...it's not exactly a surprise or anything since we just bought a house together, but the timing will be, since she doesn't know what my plans are in terms of getting the ring. Knock'er dead!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 02:56 PM) obtuse Marty in a nut shell.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 07:50 AM) Time off defintely will help the Spurs in the long run, but man, I've seen so many teams come out rusty in the NBA after a week long layoff I just sorta expect it. The Spurs know what time it is. Pop was going to have those boys ready one way or another.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:09 PM) Get the f*** off this team Dunn He just missed that one Baron. You can't be too upset. -
Questions about moving jobs. (May the thread title should be changed to "ALL THINGS ABOUT JOBS") I know that moving from job to job to job looks bad on a resume. My question to the members (and I know this is subjective) but when it is the right time to make the move and the right time to stay put? Let's say you're a single bachelor making decisions. How does one play it?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) He'd still have been on the roster if the game had ended in 13 last night. No doubt but I still think he pitches too carelessly for my taste.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 01:09 PM) Omogrosso a victim of having pitched too much. He'll be back up eventually, but they wanted two fresh arms for today's game. Tough break for him. No surprises on the callups. More like the culprit of giving up too many bombs.
