Cubs vs Sox 1:20 PM
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2013 -> 02:20 PM) Its hard to watch him hit. He looks nothing like he did in his Reds days. I know people go through slumps but for him, slumps are a norm and him hitting is the equivalent of an average hitter having a slump.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 29, 2013 -> 01:53 PM) you really think he's that bad? Since he's shortened his stroke he's been very consistent. He's bad. He doesn't make contact. K's a ton.

Cubs vs Sox 1:20 PM
Hard to score any f***ing runs when you have a bunch of boppers that cannot make solid contact hitting behind the people who get on base.

Slow pitch softball thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 28, 2013 -> 09:40 AM) LOL, i bet he is unstoppable. I remember back in the 90s I read a story about Cory Snyder joining a 12 inch team when he retired, and hit something like 78 homeruns in a 15-20 game schedule. There is a tournament team in our park called the Shockers, and they have an "A" team that shows up for playoffs, and it is full of ex college players. It just isnt fair playing against those guys. My team went 9-1 in the season and lost to their "B" team by 10 runs in the season, and we played their "A" team in the playoffs and lost 40-2, called in the 2nd inning. And after they got 20 runs they stopped taking extra bases. shellACKED Maybe you guys shouldn't have sucked and had some pride.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 28, 2013 -> 01:04 PM) Just remember they go off 2 hours before game time. Sometimes those last 5 minutes or so are fun. You hit refresh and prices change. So I have to buy before 5:10PM?

:OFFICIAL: 2013 White Sox discounts and deals thread!
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 28, 2013 -> 09:17 AM) IMO, you should check it occassionally. I doubt the prices will go up. Maybe focus on a couple of options, if one dissappears, get the other one, otherwise, wait until your deadline or when it has dropped into the range you like. Chances are the price will drop. I work at IIT. I am hoping that the prices will drop heavily before the game starts so I can snag a ticket. We'll see.

Where is Phegley?
If Nate Jones works on his secondary pitches and puts some work in that fireball. He'll be fine. He seems to lost his control.

Where is Phegley?
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 28, 2013 -> 09:06 AM) I don't have a beef, but he's not a starter and if you are getting rid of a catcher, I'd keep Flowers over him as a back up. He's younger and hits for more power. Losing Gimenez isn't going to cost the White Sox wins. If he makes good contact which is a rarity.

Where is Phegley?
I don't know what people's beef with Gimenez is... in his limited at bats, he's driven in some big runs. Not to mention he saved runs from scoring and has throw out runners.. T-flo has won some games with his bat but he just seems clueless at the plate (he's probably also lost a lot of games 'K' ing with RISP not that he's the only culprit) Gimenez being a switch hitter helps as he'll always get the better look at pitchers.
