  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:33 PM) I believe that Beckham has been horrible with RISP this season.. That is all I really care about.. And he has been. The point is that it's not a stat that's been shown to be predictive going forward. To me, it's random. If I told you Beckham was hitting great during the day and awful at night this year, would you say he has a problem batting at night?
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 10:30 PM) That never stopped you pushing De Aza daily Actually I was pushing De Aza because I said his stats didn't match up to what he was actually doing. I think he's shown that to be the case. With Hanson, I pointed out his FIP in addition to his ERA to show that his stats match up to what he's doing. Which is not very much. Plus, he's injured. Or "injured".
  3. Guys I think trading Hector Santiago for Adam Eaton was a good thing
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 10:21 PM) Why not give Hanson a try cannot do any worse than what we are seeing? You mean besides his 6.16 ERA/6.21 FIP at Charlotte this season, or him not having pitched for a month because he's on the disabled list?
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 10:16 PM) I have no clue.. It is probably him putting more pressure on himself and he just doesn't perform. But why didn't he do that in other years? Does it not make more sense that by splitting each player's stats into RISP and non-RISP that you're going to get some players who have disparities, particularly when you're talking about (Beckham's 64 PA with RISP in 2014) a little over 2% of a player's career plate appearances?
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 10:10 PM) I don't understand your point? Beckham gives a better chance but he still sucks with RISP Out of interest, why is that you think Beckham sucks with RISP? As in what's the reasoning behind him doing so, if he does? Nerves? How come then that in other years he's hit better with RISP than with the bases empty?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:59 PM) Um, why is Carroll still in? With the [X] selection of the 2015 first year player draft, the Chicago White Sox select...
  8. Jesse Sanchez ‏@JesseSanchezMLB 11m Source: #WhiteSox & #Mariners among teams expected to hold press conferences to announce international period signings during next few days.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 08:49 PM) Sox released Maikel Cleto? Mlbtraderumors says so. Yup. Unfortunately the guy they replaced him with on the Knights might be even more wild.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:50 PM) Intentional unintentional...or vice-versa. That one yeah, but in general he's been showing increased patience, particularly with 3 ball-counts
  11. You watching, Mariners? He's always like this, swear.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:27 PM) Well, that actually MIGHT be morely likely to happen than either a Surkamp or another Leesman start. You don't think it's possible they go to Surkamp starting at any point? Considering he was brought in as MLB starting depth, our starting depth has fallen apart, he threw extremely well at Charlotte as a starter and he's looked good in his very short stint up? Just so they can keep him as a bullpen lefty, even though (iirc) he doesn't really have a dramatic split?
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 08:21 PM) With Ventura wanting to preserve the LHP for 7th-8th inning match-ups, I wouldn't be at all shocked if they tried Heath instead. Then sign Capuano for the minimum, he can LOOGY, long relieve and be a 5th starter depending on what you want to do
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:10 PM) We should just bring up Beck Beck has struck out less than 5 guys every 9 innings at AA and got rocked in his one AAA spot start
  15. The Scott Carroll Starter Experiment might be great for #TheRoadToAProtectedDraftPickMeaningWeCanSignShieldsOrSomeone but I hope it's ditched soon for the Eric Surkamp Starter Experiment
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) I know all those acronyms mean something and guys throw them out there like crazy, but it's all Greek to me. All I want is someone to be productive and the Sox to win In that case, Dunn's NGPSLTSW (Non-Greek Production Leading To Sox Winner) is 4
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 08:51 PM) And yet he's still second on the team in OPS at 804. wRC+ is a way better stat because OBP is more important than SLG. It's more favourable to Dunn too, he's at 123, i.e. 23% better than league average
  18. Great bunt for a hit by De Aza. But of course he was a dumbass to try it in the bottom of the 9th last week.
  19. I know he went 4 straight days in Toronto, but given the day off and that he's stretched out, I wonder if Carroll continues to struggle do they go with Surkamp as long reliever to see what he's got for multiple innings
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 06:51 PM) Heath - 10 k's Give him a start on Sunday. Why not. I'm still too shook from his 12 walks in 5 MLB games last year to trust him fully, but it's been a really nice run for him
  21. Michael Taylor 2 walks in 2 PA Saladino homer Davidson 1-2
  22. Was Abreu's walk the result of some patient takes or just some poor pitching?
  23. Ravelo is a doubles machine
