Gamethread to continue the good feeling of a win
Feeky Magee replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2014 Season in Review
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 07:43 PM) Are you kidding me?? Thanks Downs, for the effectiveness, as usual...and Putnam... You do realise Putnam faced 2 hitters and got them both out? -
Michael Taylor has been doing quite nicely since he's come over, 1-2 with a walk tonight

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 06:45 PM) God why didn't we sign Ubaldo? Drafting Spencer Adams was stupid compared to that. Adams gave up hits to the first 4 batters he faced with the AZL White Sox, he's a bust -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 06:30 PM) Was just about to post this. It's a long season people get caught up in two month production sometimes. At least De Aza is actually a proven MLB hitter. Flowers is f***ing pathetic, he has to have the lowest OPS to BABIP ratio of all f***ing time. And Adam Eaton was a f***ing steal. A 3-5 WAR player (if healthy, big caveat for sure) that we got for a AAAA starter, yes please. Heh, just as De Aza ties up the wRC+ at 77, Flowers goes back into the lead -

Tyler Flowers's OBP is about to slip below .300. He's about to get passed out by Alejandro in offensive production. Eaton meanwhile, is now hitting exactly league average - 100 wRC+. -

Phegley replaced 2 days ago and benched yesterday, Kevan Smith sitting out today... might be nothing (particularly since Birmingham had a day game after a night game) but would like to see Smith in Charlotte.

Jon Morosi @jonmorosi · 9m Mariners would be in playoffs if postseason started today. They're expected to talk with White Sox if Dunn, Ramirez, Viciedo available. Jon Morosi @jonmorosi · 7m White Sox in last place now, and -- if they decide to sell -- have four bats to possibly move: Dunn, Beckham, Ramirez, Viciedo.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 08:16 AM) Feeky Magee I really don't know you as a poster and I seen your good work on future sox doing the update, but lets talk about the a word you may know hypocrite. By saying what you said about how I chose to use borAss is one thing and it would hold water if you were even though out your condemnation of what I wrote, I will accept it. however on the same day, you didn't even say anything negative about how Blowasavio was used. ummm ref DirtySox, I never knew ad nauseum oops I meant ad nauseam was meant that I was using borAss excessive degree. see I just came back and I didn't know how many times it was used. here is another thought, I believe I started using borAss many, many yrs ago and I also believe I was the first. either way, why didn't get on your proverbial and tell how it is not proper to critical of our own players. btw, yes I had to look up what ad nauseam meant. wow

Ravelo 2-3 with a walk and a double Smith 2-4 with a double
-
Michael Taylor 3-4 with a double. Saladino 3-5. The Knights bullpen is one of the worst of all-time, they seem to blow the lead every single day. I'm pretty sure you can go ahead and release Mitchell Boggs guys.
-
QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 09:55 PM) Blowasavio didn't blow a save. Key was the glasses, as soon as he takes them off GIDP. No more glasses for Blowasavio please. In fact maybe that was his issue trying to escape Venezuela in ST, he just kept walking into the wall over and over again until eventually he took them off and was like "My word that's not the customs office that's a wall" and then he was fine. That's a direct quote, I believe

The Andrew Mitchelliest of lines from Andrew Mitchell: 1.1 IP, 1H, 5ER, 4BB, 3K Came into the night with 11.6 K/9 and 8.65 BB/9
-
God I love that double play pivot
-
Bucciferro with another great start: 7.0 IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 6K. ERA in the mid-3s and peripherals better. Would really like to see him in Birmingham.

Dammit, Jose. Takes strike one and swings at ball four and ball five.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 08:11 PM) I'd lighten up, but when you constantly wage war against all the De Aza "haters", don't follow that up with a blatant bait job hoping to egg everyone on. Again, you have every right to express your opinion, but trolling ain't cool. Jeez, it was an obviously sarcastic sentence about someone who's red-hot but has struggled overall. I'm pretty sure I said the exact same about Tyler Flowers when he was going through his streak.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) No offense, but this is straight up trolling. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 08:02 PM) Agreed No offence, but lighten up

Alejandro does nothing but get on base
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 06:44 PM) Seems like he's hit .400 in first AB and .100 for the rest of the game I was just thinking this when looking at the box score. Incredible. Ravelo and Smith both 1-1, those two are automatic in the middle of that lineup.

DAYAN YOU ARE A BAD MAN

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 07:38 PM) And an OPS of 639 on the season. Which is still 119 points behind that noted slugger Gordon Beckham. He's walked more and struck out less than last year and his career rates. The one figure in his whole statsheet that's remarkably different is a BABIP that is still 60+ points below his career average. For most of the season it was well over 100 points below his career average. All whilst he was walking more, striking out less and only hitting very slightly less line drives.

QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 07:37 PM) Abreu with a bullet QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 07:37 PM) Jose with a bullet So which one was it?
