  1. Mitchell Boggs looking sharp with a cool 8.45 ERA
  2. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 06:55 PM) Excellent point that I wasn't aware of due to not knowing those rules as well. Thanks for the input. Note that those are potential grades, not projected. He's not going to get to all of those. Also, I'm fairly certain several of the best pitchers of all time had two pitches that would grade out at 80 with command that graded out at 65 or higher. Future grades are supposed to have at least some level of realism. I listen to a decent amount of scouting podcasts and when they're extremely excited about a pitch, one they think could be elite, they'll hang a 70 on it. 80 is basically seen as generational. I haven't heard anyone get close to a 70 on Rodon's fastball, never mind an 80.
  3. Micah is 2-2 with a walk, a homer and a steal, was due a night like this with Charlotte.
  4. Danks ranks 83rd of 96 qualified pitchers in FIP, 95th of 96 in xFIP and 89th of 96 in SIERA. He has greatly reduced stuff and has a relatively large contract. You absolutely listen to any offer you get. As for the wishlists above, come on, ask yourselves: if you were a GM of the Mariners, would you give up anything close to Walker, Guerrero, and Wilson for Alexei?
  5. Future grades of 80, 80, 70 and 65 for his pitches with 65 command? That's the best pitcher of all-time.
  6. QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 04:12 PM) I hate the fashion in which Ventura manages.. Credit to him, some managers wouldn't have brought in the closer there
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) He does good the first 4 innings but always finds trouble in the 5th or 6th. Good to see a solid start. In fairness to him, he's allowing an unsustainable BABIP and home run rate, so bad luck would probably explain some of that. If he keeps up this form I wouldn't mind seeing him up for a start or two.
  8. Erik Surkamp had a great start, 7.0 IP, 3H, 0R, 1BB, 8K. His K:BB rate this year is excellent.
  9. Davidson 2-4 with no strikeouts, first hit in the second half of a game all year (possible exaggeration)
  10. Micah 0-5 with 4 strikeouts. Davidson 0-4 with 2 strikeouts. Yikes.
  11. Thought this was for Adam Lopez first and got mad. Not Hispanicist, honest.
  12. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 09:10 PM) Fair enough. I use bWAR because I find their site easier to navigate. I thought both agreed to standardize the WAR stat? Standardised replacement level, not wins above replacement level
  13. fWAR is better than bWAR and has Salty at 1 WAR versus Flowers's 0.8. (just pointing it out, I wouldn't have signed Salty either)
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 08:40 PM) Well to be fair, we all knew Flowers' April was fluky. Dunno about 'all', I had lots of people telling me it was due to a change in his swing mechanics and BABIP was a nonsense stat
  15. Flowers now 2 for his last 40 with 21 strikeouts.
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 08:02 PM) Can you imagine what Flowers average would be like without those bloop hits in April? To have a wRC+ of 93 after arguably the luckiest month in baseball history (no exaggeration) is almost impressive.

  18. The OP originally promised me Montas. I am disgusted.
