  1. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) I think you mean "Tanks"... I'm one who usually doesn't mind Hawk and his broadcasting style, but that was driving me up a wall. I kept saying Missiles when Ramirez was up, just a stupid thing to add an s to.
  2. Wait a sec, I thought the only way to protect players was to spout off about other countries politics, or proclaim if this doesn't work to fire me, or to have one of your sons (or lousy newspaper reporter friends) get into a twitter fight with a former player or current boss. I didn't realise that just keeping your mouth shut worked as well. You learn something new each day.
  3. Heavyweight Champ totes around the old WCW belt. WWE Champ totes the WWE belt. This is why Vinny can make a match where the Heavyweight Champ can lose in 18 seconds, he doesn't really care about that belt.
  4. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 11:17 AM) They don't think they are, they are very confident in what Colin Kaepernick can do.... Yeah, and every Bears fan was pretty confident that a man named Caleb could win just one game. If I were a 49'ers fan I'd be extremely worried about now. Not bashing you, 49'er fans, or this guy, just saying.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) I was a bit surprised by this. Apparently, Spring Training ticket sales for the Sox are up 15% over last year. Possible factors include price changes and changes to the schedule. Maybe the economy is better as well. Maybe because they now might get to see a win...
  6. QUOTE (MAX @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) I thought he looked in better shape when I saw that 1 minute interview in the other thread. But I figured if he was this much thinner it would have been reported. It was reported, just everybody called it another "fluff" piece by the media.
  7. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 18, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) 4 new OL/DL? The only questionable spots on both is a LT and a DE.... that is only 2 new members. Can't see anyway we bring in more than 2 WR's that would see any playing time either. I was also thinking depth on both lines (I'm not crazy about our DT), not just starters. Three WR is stretching it but that could be played out if they pick up another pass catching TE, two WR are a must though. The depth on this team is pretty bad all around, we need bodies and many of them.
  8. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 18, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) I would not be a big fan, there are a lot of F/A WR's that are better than Wallace even, no reason to go for him and lose our draft pick. Exactly, the Bears need about four new OL/DL, need to start thinking about younger LB/CB, on top of needing about two or three new WR, and working on a new deal for Forte and Cutler eventually. Making a one for one trade is not a smart thing to do right about now.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) I know KW & Ozzie had their issues, but I would hope a manager could tell his GM, "Listen, this guy hasn't been right since day one. We've tried everything and it just hasn't worked. I'm gonna have to bench him or at least drop him in the order because I don't see it changing anytime soon." Wasn't it around July/ end of June that KW told the media that Ozzie didn't have to worry about the contracts and play the best guys going. I think KW views the All-Star break as a barometer of how the team is going, if they are stinking it up do whatever it takes to get the team going and try to salvage a season.
  10. I picked other and am going with the Tank, Dayan Viciedo. I'm hoping for an 08 Quentinish year for him, maybe with a little less power, we'll see.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) His days are numbered. But if they were numbered why wouldn't they just release him right now. I guess so they get another 30 days of no compete (don't most guys have a 30 day no compete clause).
  12. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 12:57 AM) The Second day of 2012 is here.... Whose it going to be? My money's on Jericho. Brodus Clay, even though he has been on the phone with Laurinaitis this past month or two. This is WWE, expect nothing, be pleasantly surprised with a surprise.
  13. I read that the Orton injury was preexisting, they had been protecting him since Dec. 19th. Barret didn't cause this one, just made to look like it for when Orton gets back.
  14. If the Colts and Payton part ways I can see Washington as a destination.
  15. QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 12:04 PM) I've seen Betances pitch often. He's the type who could be very good or very bad. Something along the lines of Daniel Cabrera. Huge pitcher, huge stuff, control problems. Daniel Cabrera was a really highly thought of prospect cause he had stuff that was just awesome. If Dellin can harness some control you could be looking at a right handed Randy Johnson as a ceiling or a Daniel Cabrera floor. Wide range there I know but I like Betances, he's a home grown guy from right here in Brooklyn, grew up a Yankees fan. Went to David Wells perfect game and all. I hope we hold onto him. At the most and I don't mean to s*** on Danks here, cause I've dreamed of him coming to the Yankees for the past year and a half... well dream is an overstatement but I think/hope you understand what I mean, but Dellin is the most you'll get out of the Yankees. The Yankees would trade Betances before they trade Noesi too. Noesi is throwing 96, touching 98 in winter ball. The FO views him as better than Nova as well. As for Dellin, you'd be trading Danks for a guy who has a 10% chance at being a star and that right there is worth it in the end if you know anything about how it works. IMO if the Yankees and White Sox trade it will be a package of three guys and none of those three nor Williams or Sanchez will be moved. And you know absolutely nothing on what the Yankees will give up. Danks has the ceiling of being the Yanks second best pitcher tomorrow. With the Yanks offence he could be better than CC. He has had zero run support, and has had no luck with the Sox the past two years. I totally dislike folks who deal in absolutes, you know as much as everybody else, unless you work for the Yankees.
  16. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 02:12 AM) Chicago is arctic compared to NJ and NY. Yes yes, we are Hoth and they are Dagobah.
