QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) Hmmm, I already answered this. The reason he has more control this year is because he isn't looking down at the ground before he throws the ball. But of course little things like that wouldn't have been seen a month or 2 ago, when the Cotts haters were DEMANDING he must be sent down to AAA. Sooo..... how bout that Kevin Walker........

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) But he DID suck in the past. I don't understand what you are trying to say. The reason he is pitching better is because he isn't looking at the ground before he delivers. And you gave him no hope of getting better despite the fact he has pitched less than 100 innings at the major league level. Funny how he only has 5 BB's since May, with that "control" of his isn't it.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) You could say the same for you b****ing out Neal Cotts whenever he has a bad outing... And the last time that happened was............ (just check my sig peoples).

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) if the sox were winning im sure wed be getting along fine Oh that's not the case I can assure you. Case in point - Freddy Garcia yesterday.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) You defend corpseball. I'm sure any stupid thing is funny to you. So do you want to go back to good ol days of home runs galore and 2nd to 3rd place finishes?

Yes Happy Fathers Day to all of the Fathers out there in the States.

Got a real chance to pull away from the Twinkies over the next 4 games, with the Royals series coming up after this, while Minny take on Detroit which should be a good series in it's own right. The Indians are coming too though, but let's just keep doing what we've been doing. Let's hope JC's outing goes better than his last one too, hopefully with AJ catching tonight.

It's pretty much always been that way in Chicago and probably will be for a long time. Doesn't greatly affect me though, nor that it should.

Fran Vazquez could slide all the way down to #15 if Utah don't pick him at #6. That's the steal of the draft right there, I'd hope Orlando would take him at #11, instead of Joey Graham who they've been wowed by.

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) They had the chance to bring him back. Therefore, let me modify my comparison. It'd be like the Braves sending Jones to the Royals because they have Marte, who then release him a year later, and then letting him go to the Phillies. Still dumb to let a big rival have such a good player. Why aren't you guys letting me rip on the Twins? It'd be like me defending the Patriots. Those teams can both kiss my ass! Right now Joe Nathan is way more valuable to the Minnesota Twins than A.J Pierzynski, plus they 2 got very nice prospects out of the deal as well. Sounds like they did pretty well to me, as Terry Ryan always does.

Melbourne - Currently 11.9C at 11:40 p.m or 53 degrees. Tomorrow is expected to be rain with a high of 15C or 59 degrees. Phoenix - Hot and sunny with a low of 25C or 77 degrees, and a high of 41C or 105 degrees. It's gonna get over 110 later in the week, yikes.

Happy Birthday to a real good poster around these parts!!!!

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Well, I guess since we made Elmer Dessens look like Cy Young facing either of those two would have been an upgrade. Too bad we made Yhency Brazoban look like a poor man's Billy Koch then wasn't it.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) Agreed, and he was almost a Sox. Remember the Konerko for Odalis trade rumors in 2003 when Konerko was hitting like s***? He was also bandied about a lot here during the off-season, especially just after we missed out on Matt Clement, but then we ended up with El Duque.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Nope. Brad Penny and Derek Lowe are but thankfully we missed them in the rotation. Even then, Penny - June - 1-1, 6.35 ERA Lowe - June - 1-3, 5.33 ERA

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Widger>cabrera therefore he is god and cabrera is just a peon. I bet when anthrax sees this he is gonna... What about the other two?

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) I wouldn't say Malone continues to shine. He went 5 IP, 3 R today and he doesn't go deep into any starts. I don't think he can make it as a starter, maybe a reliever. Well he's been doing pretty good for a couple of months now, getting his velocity back, even though he usually doesn't go further past 5 or 6 innings, but he's getting his career back on track which is good to see.

I have NUMEROUS offers out there for lots of people.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) A fresh reliever is a better option than pitching a guy on 111 pitches in my opinion. I'm just a little pissed because I think Ozzie threw Freddy back out there just so he could qualify for the win. In other words, I don't like seeing our manager overwork our starters Dusty Baker-style. There's a reason El Duque's shoulder was sore a few weeks ago and had to miss two starts. He threw 118 and 116 pitches in two starts in a row. El Duque is El Duque, you watch his pitch counts. Let's look at Garcia's pitch counts this season so far; 109 110 108 96 108 107 100 112 102 108 94 103 107 122 A fresh reliever? Like Neal Cotts? If anyone else comes out, Ozzie would get hung out to dry by the pessimists, even before he gives up a run, if that's what he does. Like I said, Garcia was hot, you want to rest your bullpen as much as possible (especially considering JC was on the mound tomorrow), and he was unlucky he gave up a run anyway. That call down the left field line could have gone either way (even though it was the correct call), and if AJ doesn't let the wild pitch go through, who knows if the Dodgers even score a freakin run!!!
