Rumors thread
I guess the Padres want a leadoff hitter real bad, since they don't want Sean Burroughs to do the job again. And they'd save a little salary on the deal too I presume.

Rumors thread
Willie Harris and a stud pitching prospect like B-Mac perhaps could do the trick? It's hard not to see Beane being interested in Lee though, maybe Byrnes could be included as well. But damn Philly would hav had a great rotation if they did that deal.

Somebody just needs tell kenny get urbina
With the addition of Hermanson as a set-up guy, I can't see how we're going to acquire another one in Urbina even though he's great friends with Ozzie. We've got more important needs to fill, mainly a starter and an infielder or catcher.

23 HR's in 2003 from 117 games and 19 HR's in 2004 from only 105 games. His OBP and SLG have dropped off significantly in the past few seasons. He's the not the Japanes guy I want, (Daisuke Matsuzaka) but unfortunately I'm going to have to wait another year for that scenario.

Rumors thread
Yeah no way will the Red Sox offer him a 4 year deal with Hanley Ramirez scheduled to be the major league SS in 2006. I think the Angels will jump in for him now possibly, since they still have money to spend.

who would you rather trade for?
Hudson ONLY if KW and JR can lock him up to that 4 year $50 million deal he wants, and deserves to get.
-
Wilson Alvarez
Alvarez certainly warrants consideration. However the main factor going against us signing him is that he's primarily an NL pitcher who'd like to stay in the NL to help his numbers. He's also very injury prone, but he can also pitch in the bullpen as well. A wait and see I guess, but I think LA will be keen to retain him if they can't trade for Hudson, and are most likely going to lose Perez.

Would you pull off these trades?

phil rogers on sox/dbacks/yankees
That's what scares the hell out of me, that KW is going to somehow include Anderson in this deal. He already dealt Reed, and Anderson could very well be next.

Whose story do you believe?
Frankly who cares. Let's just move on, what's done is done.

Bulls Thread
Swift has had 11 blocks this week I believe, but beware he's in a contract year as well I think. I still think Dalembert would be a better center which is what the Bulls need, and I see that he's actually starting and playing tonight. Maybe some pressure from Billy King and ownership to O'Bie to actually play him for once.

Bulls Thread
Realistically the top 3 SG's on the market are Michael Redd, Ray Allen and Cuttino Mobley. Gordon would be perfect as a Bobby Jackson type off the bench, while you would have Nocioni backing up Luol Deng at SF. Ilgauskas is also a FA I believe, although the Cavs need to hang onto him.
-
Bulls Thread
I've said many times before the Bulls need a shotblocker like Dalembert. Personally, because he's a FA after this season, if the Bulls could clear cap space, they should target Cuttino Mobley and Dalembert and see if they can both sign them. I think Mobley is easily one of the most underrated players in the league and has been for a long time.
-
Rumors thread
Which shows why he isn't the pticher we should be targeting, I'd still prefer Odalis Perez. But Vazquez could easily be a 20 game winner if he pitched for a team like San Diego or Detroit.
-
Rumors thread
It's funny, I'm sure most people probably would have this time last year when he was still with the Expos, but Vazquez has slipped in the eyes of so many.

Sorry Jason, but I've never heard nayone defend Curry as much as you do. As we speak, Mohammed has a double - double against the Wizards and Mike Sweetney is doing pretty good to.
