Unless we trade Konerko for Vazquez, there's no way we'd be able to sign a FA SP since we'd be taking on more salary in Jones' contract than of Lee's.

Who'd of thought Dushku did as good as she did, especially as the expense of Cuthbert and Kruek I believe. Ahhh memories, too bad of the bandwith I suppose.

There's really no point in signing Gibbons now considering we have Dye and Everett in RF, even though Carl will DH for the 1st month. A starter or an infielder is definitely a more pressing need, maybe even a catcher still, depending on what happens with Ben Davis.

Probably deserved to go in the rumors thread, but hell, I'll start a new thread. With the Dodgers signing Jeff Kent to a 2 year $17 million deal, there are reports they could trade or non - tender Alex Cora. It's another infield option we could certainly look at, it would re-unite Alex with his brother Joey, and I'm sure Ozzie and KW would love that. Of course it all depends on what happens at 1B and 3B for the Dodgers. Do they keep Beltre, and play Choi at 1B, or will they use Cora or Kent for one of those positions possibly? And Cora hit .264 with 10 HR's and 47 RBI's, with 47 BB's and only 41 K's in 2004. He's a lefty hitter and made $1,300,000.

Can I just ask what people would prefer? Door #1 - Edgar Renteria for 4 years at $10 million. Door #2 - Miguel Cairo for 2 years at $2 million, and a trade for Javier Vazquez or the signing of Odalis Perez for 3 years $20 million. Door #3 - Placido Polanco for 2 years at $4 million, and the signing of a cheaper starter like Paul Byrd.

Minnesota has had a grip on this division since 2001. They haven't done anything this off-season so far, besides losing Guzman that can be a weakness to their team. They get Joe Mays back in their rotation too I believe. They should be the favorites and deserve to be until someone from this division can prove they can knock them off. The White Sox may have a better team on paper, but that doesn't they're going to have a better team where it counts most. The Standings.

Lowe is a Bora$$ client, so unless KW puts his "collective" ego aside here and JR, Lowe won't be pitching here. Period. And that'll be good news if the Angels sign Finley because that will have meant that Detroit will have missed out on both Glaus and Finley. Perhaps they'll probably go after Lowe now.

Andrew, your personal summary; Your Personality Type You are a realist who places a high value on trust and loyalty. People notice that you are passionate about your views and that they can count on you when you make a personal commitment. Your Motto "If you are going to do it, do it right." How You Work best You function best when you are in a predictable environment where expectations are clear. Too much change and unpredictability can make you feel distracted. You are most productive and at your best when you know exactly where you are headed.

She'd be up there, but sometimes she can look great and other times well I dunno.

If KW gets Odalis Perez for 5 or 6 million and can convince one of Cairo or Polanco to sign, he'll have done his job this offseason. But it's more likely that Konerko is traded and maybe Garland and we end up with Javier Vazquez, depending if the Yanks and D-Backs can agree on something.
-
And the realists will stay real.

Would you like to change that comment yet?

Time for some merging and pinning. And here were my thoughts copied from the rumors thread; Considering we were going to get him for 3 years $15 mil, we haven't done too badly out of this I guess. If it's true, I'd assume he's making 4 mill in 2004, which will bring payroll up to about $69 mil.

Wow is that confirmed? Considering we were going to get him for 3 years $15 mil, we haven't done too badly out of this I guess. If it's true, I'd assume he's making 4 mill in 2004, which will bring payroll up to about $69 mil.

Yeah he won't accept a trade to any other team than the Yankees now. The three team deal including the White Sox has been rumored that it's heating up over the past day or so.

And the Padres STILL trying to dump Ryan Klesko;
-
Already reported in the Tim hudson thread. Found this on Troy Glaus, could impact the Tiggies with Steve Finley possibly;
-
Walker is pretty much a depth guy who could get a look at a bullpen spot depending on his spring training performance which will be the norm for a lot of these "fringe" pitchers come 2005. Frankly, I don't see him doing anything other than replacing Kelly Wunsch down in Charlotte.

Yankees to make offer for Pavano and so have the Marlins;
-
Also this is what it will cost to lock up Hudson long - term;
-
Looks like the Braves are interested in Hudson;

I did not know where to put this stat but i thought the magic fans here would like this. Orlando Magic - 12 - 6 Chicago Bulls - 3 - 13

Little things to add on the signing from the Southtown;
