People expect more out of Curry because he's got the talent to be Shaq like. See the thing is with Curry he lulls you into a false sense of security with a game like this, and then he probably won't hit double figures again for the next 5 games. Mohammed and Sweeney plus a 1st, would still be a good deal, Nazr has had some really good games lately. The Bulls still got killed on the boards tonight, Curry has 2, that's right, 2 freakin rebounds. Boozer, Okur and Harpring b/w them had the same amount of boards as the Bulls. Since the Bulls actually got to the free throw line tonight, they won, but they were very fortunate indeed.

Sign one of Jon Lieber, Odalis Perez or Al Leiter to a 2 year deal at around 5 to 6 mil. Sign Nomar for a 1 year $7 million deal, or else, sign Placido Polanco on a 2 year deal. Trade Konerko to Baltimore for Larry Bigbie, Jorge Julio and a prospect. Sign Daisuke Matsuzaka from Japan. Sign Chad Fox to a 1 year deal with an option for a 2nd. Leave one of Burke or Davis as the everyday catcher, and sign a veteran backup like Dan Wilson.

FWIW Arizona will not trade for Konerko unless they can get him signed to an extension ASAP when they trade for him. It's like the Freddy Garcia situation over there. And yes, the D-Backs do need a slugger, Luis Gonzalez is getting older, and if they do move Hillenbrand, they won't have many RBI producers in the middle of that lineup at all. It looks like a RJ to the Yanks trade with Vazquez possibly heading to Arizona could be going down, so maybe the Sox could get involved as a 3rd team and try to get a Vazquez for Konerko swap maybe, as this has been mooted with Texas with Soriano headed to Arizona.

Frankly I'd prefer Perez over Clement for a couple of reasons. He has less injury problems, is younger, a lefty, and has recorded a 15 win season before. It astounds me that Eric Milton will probably get a 21 million deal, and Perez could get less.

Leiter suddenly becoming available just possibly gave KW a lot more leverage. If we were able to sign Leiter to say a 2 year deal, we wouldn't have to trade for RJ anymore, as we'd have 5 capable starters possibly. Then we could work with Pittsburgh on a Konerko and Garland for Kendall and Craig Wilson deal possibly, and then the Sox could still be in the running for a SS or some more bullpen pieces. I doubt it will happen though, since I think Leiter would prefer to stay in the NL if possible, but the Yanks will probably be interested in him now though, which could make the chances of Jon Lieber resigning with him shorten dramatically, since they're already likely to lock up Eric Milton to a 3 year deal.

Why not possibly try going after Leiter then? I've heard he'll probably return to his hometown Florida Marlins though.

I saw that on the news today. Apparently with the 3 young lifeguards, all girls, trying out, the head lifeguard or the one who was running the test didn't want to warn the girls about the shark because then they'd panic and you don't know what would happen afterwards.

Those are my thoughts too, it'll take time with the new players etc. to buy into Doc's system (if he actually has one). They are one of the more deeper teams in the East though and that depth will become more handy later in the season. Basically I think if Blount and LaFrentz can peform at their best, Boston can be a top 4 team. They probably need to give Jefferson more playing time as well.
