ESPN 1000 - Talk Baseball
I don't think it's any secret that this is really a HUGE year for the White Sox, one that will shape the direction of this team for the next 5 years possibly. With Cleveland looking like they'll dominate the division over that time, and the Tiggies and Illitch spending money like there's no tomorrow, this division is getting more competitive each day. If the White Sox don't perform, there'll be a fire sale most likely, and the young players will get more playing time. Ozzie's contract finishes this season with a team option for next season, so he needs to have another winning season for that to be picked up most likely. For KW though, this team really needs to perform otherwise most likely he'll be outta here.

Tailgating at SoxFest. Well there's a place for everything I guess.

It'll be interesting to see what type of market there is for A.J because the guy is obviously a jackass, the guys in San Francisco hated his ass there this year. And you know KW doesn't want clubhouse cancers on this ballclub, period. Hairston Jr. still injured, can't say that's hardly suprising.

NFL Prediction Thread
I'm going to throw this question out there. Who's a better TE? Antonio Gates or Alge Crumpler?

Sox still remain favorites to sign Wright
Kris Benson gets $22.5 million over 3 years. Jaret Wright COULD get $12 million over 3 years. I rest my case.

Youthful infusion
I'm glad to see the Sox actually following the lead of some teams like the Dodgers and signing more international prospects from regions like the Dominican Republic. Hopefully it'll help us in the long - run.

Anybody Got NBA Insider
Like father, like son I suppose. The Warriors really want a high post center, who can pass the ball around, whether Curry is that guy I don't know, but Adonal Foyle certainly ain't.

Hi People...
Sounds like things are going well for you Heather, hope they continue to do so.

What do you do when....
I honestly don't know what I'd do in the situation, although I can certainly understand why you want your parents to butt out of your affairs in terms of boyfriends. I think my parents would probably be happy if I got a girlfriend, regardless if they played matchmaker or not, which they wouldn't do.

The White Sox First Off-Season Move
Any chance Jaret Wright can bring Leo Mazzone with him?

Wade Phillips with Atlanta. Horrible Defense. Wade Phillips with San Diego. Good Defense.

NFL Prediction Thread
Dallas still in the playoff hunt, w00t! Imagine if Julius Jones had been healthy for a full season. This team is going to be real dangerous next season if they can draft an impact CB, and sign a FA DT or DE like Abraham from the Jets.

End of Semester...
Good luck to everyone on their finals. I just got my results back for my end of semester and year studies and was pleasantly suprised with the results, so I hope you all have as much luck as me.

Chad Hutchinson
I still wouldn't completely get my hopes up yet on Hutchison. Don't forget he stunk it up in NFL Europe before the season, and the Bears were the only team willing to take a chance on him. He needs constant protection ala Kurt Warner and I'm not sure the Bears will be able to give that to him. The Vikings D isn't exactly all that great either.

Wade Miller?
Miller is usually a stud in the 2nd half of the season, which would definitely suit our needs. Considering he has pitched in a hitters park at Minute Maid, his numbers would increase that signifcantly if he pitched at the Cell. If the Astros non tendered him, I'd be all over him.

Sox 1st FA
I don't care much about the money part of the deal, if he sucks, it's only going to cost us another $100,000. What partly angered me about this move though, was that he's now on the 40 man roster, which goes up to 39. Due to this, the Sox probably won't draft anyone in the Rule 5 draft now, and there's some good prospects in there like Sisco, Ring and Webster etc., who would probably give us more long - term than Walker though. Unless Konerko and Garland are traded, or someone else, we've only got room for 1 more on the 40 man roster. I have been reading up a little of Walker in the last few days though, and apparently he's a better starter than reliever, and has had some injury problems in the last few seasons.

Just A Thought
Pretty much the team that loses out on Corey Koskie will get Joe Randa.
-
Just A Thought
Joe Randa 2003 - .291, 16 HR's, 72 RBI's, 41 BB's, 61 K's, .348 OBP. 2004 - .287, 8 HR's, 56 RBI's, 40 BB's, 77 K's, .343 OBP. Joe Crede 2003 - .261, 19 HR's, 75 RBI's, 32 BB's, 75 K's, .308 OBP. 2004 - .239, 21 HR's, 69 RBI's, 34 BB's, 81 K's, .299 OBP. No doubt KW is going to stick with Crede though because of his "so - called" potential. Whether we'll actually see him break out though, I just don't know. And Randa wouldn't sign to be a backup, he wants to be a starter, and deserves to be one. He'll get picked up by someone, just not us.

2005 starting rotation
I've found these things on Vazquez's problems;
-
2005 starting rotation
Isn't that what Javier Vazquez did this season though? No doubt the Sox need to be sure that if they sign or acquire 1 of those 2 guys, to take all the physicals they need to make sure something isn't wrong with their arms. We don't want another Dan Wright situation on our hands.
