  1. Frankly I think just B-Mac and Harris straight up is better than Antonio Perez and Edwin Jackson. And yes Beane is an idiot if he's doing that deal. He should just try to get the best players or prospects possible in a deal, instead of just settling for a second baseman and a pitching prospect. Oakland could get so much more for Hudson if they played this right.
  2. Kelvin Cato may be overpaid, but in the last 2 seasons (counting this one so far) he has gotten back to some of his old form. I think he's the main reason Houston are struggling so much, Taylor and Howard can't rebound or defend for s*** which kills Yao down in the low post. I couldn't care less how much Cato scores, the Magic has other options to do that, in Francis, Mobley, Hill and Hedo, all I'm concerned with from Kelvin is to get about 10 boards a game and 2 blocks every night and so far he's doing that fine. He's the best center the Magic have had since Shaq left.
  3. Cato's definitely out. Injury time is meant to be 10 days to 3 weeks from the Denver game which was earlier in the week. Hill is a different story though, should be right for tonight's game but this is what I got from the Orlando Sentinel. Should be a great game though, and I expect Stevie Franchise to step up again if Hill misses. Dwight Howard needs to dominate on the boards though.
  4. Mussina Pavano Wright Vazquez Brown
  5. Long - term there's still doubts on Gordon though. What's his best position? PG or SG? And should he come off the becnh and provide instant offense ALA Bobby Jackson? At least now the Bulls seem to have settled on a good lineup and are getting consistent production from Tyson Chandler.
  6. Journalist of the day right there.
  7. Probably because the hack used to play down here and he was so easy to bag.
  8. ESPN is now reporting that Wright passed his 2nd physical. Check the Rumors Thread for more details.
  9. Looks like the Wright deal is back on;
  10. Milwaulkee won't be trading for Lee, considering they already have Geoff Jenkins in LF and he's making about $8,500,000 this season I believe. And I'd like to see Diaz stick around, he'll hav a future somewhere on this team whether it's as a 5th starter or a relief man in the pen.
  11. Florida needs a 1B. If they save money on the Vazquez for Burnett deal, then they could possibly enter the Sexson or Delgado sweepstakes. I know they are also interested in Odalis Perez, and they are only paying Al Leiter $2 million this season, the rest of his salary is deferred.
  12. Burnett is going to be a stud next season since it'll be about 2 years since he had major arm surgery. He was originally Florida's ace pitcher before he got injured and the emergence of Dontrelle Willis and Josh Beckett. Frankly I'd rather get him than Vazquez. And if Renteria signs with the Red Sox, expect Hanley Ramirez to be moved to second base or traded.
  13. Funny if this had been up before we signed Hermanson, there wouldn't be so much praise I feel. Great as always Ian.
  14. After they saw they were gettin Pavano along with Milton, there wasn't a need to get Wright anymore, particularly if they STILL want to get RJ.
  15. It'd quite eerie to look at his face 12 months ago compared to what it looks like today.
  16. A donation in your name to the Human Fund.
  17. Toronto is not going to trade Wells, especially when he's only making $2.9 mill this season. Ted Lilly could be a guy to go after or even Batista if he came cheaply enough. Hopefully there is still a market for Konerko somewhere if a team misses out on Delgado or Sexson.
  18. They could have themselves another Javier Vazquez situation 1 year from now.
  19. I guess that makes Smoltz a starter again to replace Wright in the rotation. Capellan will be a stud in a few seasons though, and if they can lock up Sheets for the long - term, they'll have a nice 1-2 punch for a few seasons.
  20. No way is Barry Larkin going to get $3 million for 1 season (unless Jim Bowden is still rubber stamping deals). He's still holding out hope for a starting spot somewhere but that's not going to evantuate. He'll take a reserve postition somewhere, and sign a deal a bit less than what Eric Young got ($850,000). His bat is still good enough to hit around .260 - .270 possibly, but his fielding and arm isn't going to have teams knocking down his doorstep to sign him.
  21. Yeah no doubt the A's would prefer Cora over Harris. Even though Harris is quick and has 50 SB potential, the A's never let their players steal bases much. That's why I thought a Lee / Byrnes swap could be used, to even out the deal more, although then the A's would be adding salary there too. Also, Beane isn't letting any other organisation have a 72 hour window for that team to negotiate a long - term deal with Hudson, so that's going to shy some teams away from acquiring him.
  22. Nationals not confident on Perez now;
  23. It's just not the same without Brunson Burner is it Murcie.
  24. Ahhh ok, that's my bad then.
