  1. No way would he be starting at those postions of course, but it's always handy to have a backup to play multiple positions if needed. If Perez and Borch aren't on the team next year, we could use 3 catchers again like we have at some points this season, maybe possibly Ryan Hankins?
  2. He'll be a good backup catcher for next season, and can play some third base and right field if we need him to. Been one of the pleasent suprises if there any for this season.
  3. No suprise at all, he's a product of the system they hav in Philly. If McDougle develops this year, they could hav 3 bonafide pash rushers in Kearse, McDougle and Douglas. Just what we need in the NFC East.
  4. But if it was a Jeremy Reed home run ball.......
  5. And Bennett and Smith will miss the opening game against my Cowboys.
  6. Sooo.... how bout that Kelly Wunsch.

    Hey, i'm new.

Welcome aboard to SoxTalk trillian1187. We hope u like it here and stick around.
  10. I saw a stat earlier in the year saying that Sean Burroughs was leading off for the Padres and he was #7 in the league in OBP, and he never drew a walk either. Frankly I don't care if Valdez doesn't draw a walk IF he can get on base consistently, otherwise he's gonna hav problems being a starter in this league.
  11. No way you can have a #2 hitter who K's 3 out of 4 times usually every game. I think Borch is where he needs to be down lower in the order.
  12. What about the slurve. Now's that's an actual pitch.
  13. I hope we're able to do it again, gives us something constructive to do in the offseason. And those graphics you had last year for the site were badass Ian.
  14. Upton was killing the ball at AA and his short stop at AAA. Miggy was just a freak at AA, almost a one of a kind hitter. Sweeney doesn't deserve a call-up, he struggled early but is starting to come around now, the playoff experience will do him good. You could make a case for Anderson coming, but realistically Rowand and Lee are going to play everyday and the Sox hierachy still want a long look at Borch. I'd rather Anderson stay down at B-Ham where he gets regular playing time.
  15. Marte's actually been pretty lights out in the past week, probably the best I've seen him all season. But there's no doubt if we want to see Marte back in his 2002 - 2003 form, we need to sign a Mota like set-up man to help share the load with him.

    new employment

Any betta than workin at the Credit Union PA?
  17. I think he might need to work one of his secondary pitches and improve that before we can start thinking about using him as a closer. But he could probably be a set-up man in the future.
  18. Eaxctly, no point at all bringing them up now. It's guys like Spidale who deserve a look though for sure.
  19. That's correct but let's not bring up old dirt. Let's get this thread back on track. We saw the best and worst of Borch today, 1 huge home run, and 3 straight K's aftawards. The potential was all there for everyone to see, but it's going to take a long time to find it, whether the Sox have the patience to use him as a everyday player, I don't know.
  20. I know Baj has a nasty fastball, bout mid 90's I think. I think he has a slider and change as well.
  21. Looks like "Thriller" finally "Beat It".
  22. Green has one of the best O-Lines in Football. He had an insane running back in Priest Holmes. Trent Green is good, but he's not that good. There's a reason he was traded from St. Louis, and I'd like to see his numbers IF Dick Vermeil wasn't his coach.
  23. Sounds like a pretty sweet situation you got there now Greasy. Looks like you might hav the new party room down at Indiana Uni.
  24. If they lose Lowell and Pavano, they could actually decide to move Miggy back to 3rd and go after Maggs this offseason for some offensive production.
