  1. Hope u both hav a great b-day!
  2. If Maggs goes on the DL, call up Borchard if he's not affected by the injury in last nite's Knights game. I still think Reed needs more AB's down at Charlotte at least till July.
  3. Wow, what to do with the 5th starter now. There's no doubt KW will try to include Rauch in a package for a 5th starter, albeit probably without much success. My guess it'll be Munoz or Adkins, with Jason Grilli or Josh Stewart as the sleepers, if KW can't pull off a trade bf the next time the 5th starter is needed.
  4. Wow, can I post a game thread too?
  5. I'm not sure it's worth the risk though. If Garcia pitches well for us, he could bolt in the offseason and get a nice big contract Colon style.
  6. Here's an interestin thought from Mike Downey, White Sox need a No. 5 starter? How about they give Cliff Politte a crack at it? He was a starter in his Philadelphia and St. Louis days and he throws heat. (Just a thought.)
  7. It's a good time to be a White Sox fan, let's hope it stays this way for the rest of the season. Of course if Dusty is stupid enough to keep Borowski as the closer, then it mite just happen.
  8. It's not a buyer's market for pitching right now. We could always trade him to a team that desperately needs bullpen help like Cleveland, but then we'd be helpin a division rival. I think Kelly needs to focus on gettin his stuff back, because he knows at his best, there is a spot for him in this bullpen, he just has to put the performances on the board.

    J.Rauch

For those who don't know much bout Rauch, here's some news on his stuff; Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Saturday's game will be the White Sox starter. Right-hander Jon Rauch is the tallest pitcher in baseball history, standing 6 feet 11. Dubbed by some The Bigger Unit, he was with the Sox briefly in 2002, then spent last season with Charlotte in the International League where he made 24 starts. Though not the same kind of power pitcher as Randy Johnson, Rauch still has a fastball in the 90-95 mph range, an above-average curve and slider, as well as an improving changeup. Rauch can be intimidating because he drives the ball down and gives batters angles they haven't seen before. He is also said to be fundamentally sound with his mechanics, has excellent command, and is very athletic, moving around the mound very well for a man his size. The Angels will be starting veteran Aaron Sele (3-0 3.05), making for a very interesting pitching matchup.
  10. San Diego need him big time in their pen to get to Hoffman. Could be a big difference in them winnin the NL West this season, and u hav to say they are definitely favourites now. Will be in the Beltran sweepstakes as well.
  11. Interesting baseball trade rumor: Kansas City center fielder Carlos Beltran to Philadelphia for center fielder Marlon Byrd and top pitching prospect Gavin Floyd. That deal probably would clinch the NL East for the Phillies. It would be a logical trade because Kansas City can’t afford to retain the soon-to-be free agent Beltran and needs all the good young pitching it can get. But Floyd might be too steep a price for the Phillies to pay if they couldn’t sign Beltran long-term. …

    Robot gets on Board

THE world's most hated household chore has met its match in German efficiency: scientists have developed a robot that does the ironing. While even experienced ironers take about eight minutes to press a shirt, with the Dressman robot, built by the electronics giant Siemens, it takes seconds - as long as it takes to button up the shirt and smooth out any wrinkles. A freshly washed shirt is pulled over the device, 1.72m high, which fills with hot air. This inflates its skin, made from balloon silk, and presses against the shirt to shape it. A typical cotton shirt takes seven to eight minutes to dry and press. At the end, cold air is blown through the fabric to prolong its pressed look. As the shirt does not come into contact with the high temperature of an iron, there is less risk of singeing it or leaving shiny marks.
  13. CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox sent left-handed reliever Kelly Wunsch back to Triple-A Charlotte after Friday night's win over Anaheim and will call up Jon Rauch to start Saturday's game against the Angels. The 6-foot-11 Rauch was 5-2 with a 3.04 ERA at Charlotte. He made eight appearances with the White Sox in 2001 and was 2-1 with a 6.59 ERA. Wunsch made three scoreless appearances with Chicago after being recalled from Charlotte on May 19. He originally was optioned to Charlotte on May 10 after doing a rehabilitation assignment with the Knights because of a shoulder problem.
  14. I don't want to giv up 2 or 3 good prospects for 2 or 3 months of Freddy Garcia. I'd rather go afta Joel Pineiro instead, at least we could get 2 or 3 good years out of him in a White Sox uniform.
  15. If you are calling greener pastures escaping from the wrath of Larry Bowa, then he's fine by me.
  16. What's with all the Star Wars names recently?
  17. Hey at least Minny lost ok.
