  1. Dependin on what happens with Garciaparra and Edgar Renteria, he could still get that much.

    What bout Mean Girls?
  3. Plain and simple, Uribe was traded from Colorado because he had trouble communicating with the manager Clint Hurdle, he doesn't hav that problem here with Ozzie, Joey Cora and Raffy. Teams are now noticing how important it is to hav a latin influence around the dugout.
  4. We've also scored twice as many runs as Montreal so far this season with 274 compared to 137.
  5. Expos havin a terrible year hittin wise this year, especially with Everett and Nick Johnson constantly on the DL, Jose Vidro's poor form doesn't help much either.

  7. A JUDGE in the Miss Universe pageant selected because of his role in Donald Trump's US television reality show The Apprentice has been sacked from the competition panel. Kwame Jackson, a contestant for the reality show's April 15 final prize - a year-long, US$250,000 ($350,000) job with the billionaire developer - was disqualified by pageant organizers for waving at beauty queens he bumped into in their hotel lobby. "Kwame is intelligent, charming and we were really looking forward to him judging on our panel," pageant president Paula Shugart said in a statement. "But his interaction with the delegates, albeit unintentional, is strictly prohibited." The pageant statement quoted Jackson saying he was "disappointed and disheartened" and "honestly had no idea that (the hotel) was off limits." "I was meeting up with some friends who had flown in to support me, when I was recognized by some of the delegates," the 29-year-old New Yorker and Harvard University graduate said. "As a natural human response, I extended my hand to greet them." The sacking came just hours before the final kicks off in Quito, Ecuador. Shugart said the pageant has offered Jackson a spot on next year's panel of judges. His replacement for Tuesday night's Miss Universe final was not immediately named. The Miss Universe competition, co-owned by Trump and US television company NBC, draws women from more than 80 nations worldwide and has been around for 53 years. NBC also airs The Apprentice.
  8. Still on top, big series this week for me vs. Sonix though.
  9. For those interested in Garcia, these are his contract demands; Seattle has had talks with Garcia's agent, Peter Greenberg, in the past about a multi-year deal, but the two sides were reportedly far apart, with the Mariner possibly thinking about three years for about $25 million and Greenberg possibly seeking four years for about $40 million.
  10. Looks like 1 team mite want Jonny boy, JUST ASKING: The Mets planned to inquire about Jon Rauch, the 6-11 White Sox pitcher who drove home to Louisville after getting knocked out of Saturday's game in the fourth inning, drawing the ire of GM Ken Williams. Rauch, Baseball America's 2000 minor-league Player of the Year, has a 2-2 record and 7.24 ERA in nine career big-league appearances. "He severely hampered his chances for ever pitching for the White Sox again," Williams said in a statement. "If any team has any interest in Jon Rauch, they should contact me."

    Happy 24th PA

    Hav a great 24th B-Day PA, hope u hav 1 to remember!
  12. Two of the best lefties in the game, I'd luv to see em in the White Sox rotation 1 day.
  13. Great work again Cheat, luv havin new wallpapers every month.
  14. Gimme Miggy Tejada ova Carlos Guillen for starters. Victor Martinez ova Jorge Posada should be given some consideration. Now way Giambi should be the 1B, Travis Hafner or Mike Sweeney possibly.
  15. Would you giv up 3 top class prospects for Ben Sheets which is what Brwers GM Doug Melvin is askin? That would be the equivalent of Jeremy Reed, Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney. That's just way too much for Sheets, even though he's hittin 99 MPH with that fastball and havin a breakthru season, the Brewers aren't goin to be stupid and trade him even if they're not goin to win the NL Central, they've still gotta bring in the fans into Miller Park, and tradin their ace would send a bad message to em. This is why I really think we should go afta Joel Pineiro instead. Sure he's not havin a good season, but his last few outings hav shown he's startin to break out of his funk a little. The M's want young position players badly, and if we offa a Reed or Borchard plus mayb a Schnurstein, we mite be able to steal Pineiro off em. He's the pitcher I really want us to go afta.
  16. Here's a possible 5th starter option, and it won't cost us anythin. Not too high on him though, Rick Helling, who planned on being in the Twins' rotation by now, has been phased out of their plans now that Seth Greisinger is the fifth starter. Helling likely will end up elsewhere
  17. Jason Jennings could be an option from Colorado possibly, found this on trade rumors about him and Seattle. The Mariners have informed clubs that they are" open to anything," according to two major league executives. That means the M's would field offers not only for RHP Freddy Garcia, but also 2B Bret Boone, RHP Gil Meche and possibly RHP Joel Piniero. Trading a young starting pitcher might be the only way for the Mariners to obtain young position talent, and the team is deep in possible pitching replacements at Class AAA. Boone, 35, could appeal to the Dodgers, Giants and Yankees, but he would represent the Mariners' only power threat next season if Edgar Martinez retires. Some teams also would balk at his contract; Boone's $9.25 million option for 2005 will vest if he makes 500 plate appearances, or the team can exercise his option for $8.25 million. The Padres, trying to obtain a young starting pitcher, are targeting Meche; Rockies RHP Jason Jennings could be another possibility. The White Sox represent another possible trade partner for the Mariners. G.M. Ken Williams badly wants to add a starting pitcher, but he likely would want Seattle to assume at least part of Garcia's $6.875 million salary and include a young player if the Sox were to part with a major league-ready outfield prospect like Joe Borchard or Jeremy Reed. Borchard, a former No. 1 pick, was named the Class AAA International League Player of the Week for May 17-23 after he hit .452 with five homers and 18 RBIs. The White Sox have two other top outfield prospects, Ryan Sweeney and Brian Anderson, in Class A. . . .

    William Hung

TORONTO -- American Idol reject William Hung butchered "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during Sunday's game between the Blue Jays and Texas Rangers, much to the crowd's delight. Hung, best known for his hyperactive, tone-deaf rendition of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs," shrugged off a smattering of boos and belted out the baseball classic off-key during the seventh-inning stretch. Some in the SkyDome crowd of 22,225 egged him on; some joined in. Hung's presence drew media usually indifferent to baseball, including Rolling Stone magazine. The team said more media credentials were issued Sunday than on Opening Day. The Blue Jays initially tried to get Hung for Opening Day, but that conflicted with the release of his debut album, "Inspiration." "I still am surprised," Hung said before the game. "I can't believe it." Hung also sang at New Orleans during Game 6 of the Hornets' first-round playoff series against Miami. In the second round, he was booed in Detroit when he performed two songs during halftime of Game 2 between the Pistons and New Jersey Nets.
  19. Schmidt worries me with his arm anyways, he could hur it anytime, with the way Felipe Alou's been handlin him.
  20. I hope he stays down at Birmingham or promoted to Charlotte. I don't want to see him in Chicago with 1 day's work of pitchin in 9 games, so that he doesn't pitch well for the White Sox and his confidence is shot.
  21. Can sum1 please do me a favor next year at SoxFest, ask KW why the hell guys like Diaz and Rauch are called up when they only pitch once in nine days. Absolute stupidity, and it has wrecked the confidence of some and possibly the career of another. :headshake
  22. For those who don't want to buy OOTP6 directly from their website, I've heard Sports Interactive is workin with some OOTP developers to bring out another OOTP game retail wise later this year.
  23. With the way Joe Crede has been hittin lately, I think Fields would be a good selection if he's still available, but we should take the best player that's left, not what we need position wise. Personally I'd prefer us to select a pitcher 1st, and go afta mainly pitchin early, but if sum1 like Szymanski is the best left, u take him.
