  2. That's a fine lookin jersey right there, nice work aboz.
  3. Just remember Green had Moss, Carter and Jake Reed as the 3 WR's in Minny. And he had 7 different QB's in his time, so I think he'll stick with McCown for at least a year.
  4. I'd be up for anythin, ur banner's always seem to do da job Ian.
  5. Greasy I giv ur avatar a 9.5, nice Indiana logo there Name I giv an 8.5 Siggy I giv a 7
  6. From ESPN, N.W. writes: I'm wondering what are your thoughts on White Sox prospect Kris Honel? He seems to fly under the radar, but he's put up pretty good numbers at every stop and seems to have good stuff. He throws a low 90s fastball along with a knuckle-curve, and at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds he might add something to his fastball. Is the only reason he doesn't get much attention is because he played high school ball in a cold-weather area? I like Honel, have mentioned him before, and will do a full profile on him later this spring. He's proven himself in Class A, and should get a full shot in Double-A this year. In 360 career innings, he has a 2.95 ERA and a 348/115 K/BB ratio. You're right about his stuff: low 90s fastball, very good breaking ball. He also has a changeup. His velocity may increase as you mention, but even if it stays in the 90-92 range, it should be good enough in the big leagues given his excellent control and the bite on his breaking ball. As for the cold-weather thing, it is possible that has reduced his profile somewhat, but I wouldn't make too much of that. He was a first-round pick in '01, out of high school in Illinois, and more teams than just the White Sox were interested in him. Personally, I believe that being from a cold-weather state is actually an advantage for high school pitchers. They may have less field experience than their warm-weather counterparts, yes, but they often have less mileage on their arms as well. Properly handled, an efficient cold-weather pitcher like Honel may have a better chance to stay healthy in the long run.
  7. U know Spiff ain't gonna be happy with Danny Ainge on this 1 again.
  8. Now this makes da draft SO much more intertestin. I think Denny Green will definitely take a receiver with da 1st pick now, so Roesthlberger? will slip down, mayb da Giants will take him.
  9. Orlando beat Denver 102-98 to start a 2 game winnin streak in the battle of the #1 Draft pick with Chicago and Hot-Lanta. Chicago is down 46-40 to da Kings in the 2nd.
  10. Actually I can't make the draft at that time. It'll be 11:45 am my time, and I hav a class from 12 to 1. I'm free from 9 to 11:30 a.m and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m that day.
  11. I'd like to see him down at Charlotte until at least July first. He's only pitched as high as double AA down in da minors, and he needs to pitch sum solid innings again.
  12. PA I wanna see what u can whip up with an retro - style Aussie siggy, thinkin u would prob include sum Vegemite and a picture of Paul Hogan.
  13. Any time afta bout 6 or 7 Chicago time, and I should be up for a live draft. I'd definitely be up for doin it soona as well, since I'll be starting Uni in March.
  14. Great idea Jason, always fun to talk up ur chances and to gloat in victory.
  15. Welcome aboard! The NL Central is cetainly gonna hav sum gr8 pitchin battles now with Clemens, Pettite and Oswaly in Houston, Maddux, Wood and Prior in Cubville, and Morris and Williams in St. Louis. Good points on Borowski and Alou too, I don't think they'll hav as good season as they did last year as well.
  16. I actually think they'll pick Michael Clayton and not Reggie Williams.
  17. Did u make that smiley sig all on ur own Steve?
  18. Looks like Giricek mayb goin to Utah, One of the deals the execs were pursuing was with the Utah Jazz -- Wednesday's opponent -- that would include sending Gordan Giricek and Steven Hunter to Salt Lake City in exchange for DeShawn Stevenson. The Magic, who have the league's worst record at 14-42, were offering Drew Gooden, along with Giricek and Tyronn Lue to the Warriors for Dampier, who can become a free agent this summer. They continued to talk with the Timberwolves about a trade that included Juwan Howard for Olowokandi.
  19. Steve Sullivan has scored a hattrick in his 1st game for Nashville, they lead 7-3 ova da Sharkies.
  20. Congrats on turnin 19 today Stuey. Hope u hav a SUPER doopa birthday. I'll hav a heineken down at the bar tonite in ur honor.
  21. Bulls report from Hoopsworld, And there was much rejoicing in the land of the Bulls, as the young Chicago team knocked off two playoff teams in a row. Granted, they were both Eastern Conference playoff teams with losing records, but nonetheless, based on statistics, the Bulls should have lost both games. The fact that they didn’t gives some hope that the second half of the season might promise better things. Tuesday’s game against Toronto also presented some cause for optimism. Jamal Crawford set a career high for rebounds with 11, Eddy Curry scored his first NBA three point basket, and Eddie Robinson had a relatively clear path to a slam dunk, and instead passed off to give a lob to Ronald Dupree. The Bulls, slowly but surely, have started to grasp the idea that if they pass the ball to each other, good things happen. And yet, the question remains: will the Bulls need to revamp their player introductions again after this Thursday, the NBA trading deadline. Following the Jalen Rose trade, Jamal Crawford inherited Jalen Rose’s spot in the team’s opening graphic, while Jerome Williams got Jamal’s old slot. Now there’s talk that Jerome Williams may be headed to Philadelphia for Aaron McKie. While I’d love to add McKie’s three-point shooting ability and offense to the team, especially as small forward is a weak spot for the Bulls, losing Williams, especially after he’s found such a warm reception among Bulls fans, would hurt the team’s energy level. Tyson Chandler and Eddie Robinson do bring energy off the bench, but Williams has that certain spark that all successful teams seem to need. If the junkyard dog is traded, look for Kirk Hinrich to inherit the coveted introduction spot. If only there was a way to trade Marcus Fizer, the Bulls’ other most-popular trade bait, to get McKie, life would be a lot better. Speaking of which, it’s a pretty sad commentary that after four years in the league, most of which was spent developing into a solid role player off the bench, Marcus Fizer is valued by teams because they can write his contract off their books this summer. Fizer isn’t Ben Wallace or Kenyon Martin, but he’s not Chris Dudley or Jack Haley either. He should get a little better treatment. However, after watching him fail to get into the Bulls’ blowout of Boston last week, it’s pretty clear that whatever skills he has, the Bulls don’t see them.
  22. One GM said Emeka Okafor was another version of a Stevan Hunter. Hmmmm. I think Crawford bites the dust and leaves Chicago anyways to join Melo up in Denver. The Knicks could also be an option but they r goin to use their mid level exception on Rasheed Wallace.
