  1. The Brewers have made so many good transactions over the last few years and focusing on one of their worst to praise them is uhmm, quite bizarre
  2. Abreu really struggles to lift the ball vs quality RHP
  3. I love Liam Hendriks but I don't think there's ever been an in-game interview that ever added to a broadcast.
  4. The field mics on Sunday night baseball are awesome. I like a lot of the cameras, too. The broadcast itself, however...
  5. How do you keep Lynn's bat in the lineup once everyone is healthy?
  6. Of course Seby and Lance Lynn would be the RBI guys tonight
  7. At least the offense is finally showing some signs of life this inning.
  8. Looks like the Brewers are going to be no hit then too
  9. Seems like the returns for Cruz and Adam Frazier weren't drastically different, which is a big surprise to me.
  10. You can see the improvement happening with Vaughn on a nightly basis. At least that's been one silver lining in this series so far.
  11. Vaughn continues to make LOOOOOOOOUD contact against RHP. Every ball he's hitting right now is scorched.
  12. I'd say that was an encouraging outing for Lopez, all things considered.
  13. Which is exactly why it's more important to focus on getting the #1 seed than whether Cleveland can pull off a 100/1 shot and actually chase down the Sox.
  14. I don't think Lopez has any value to rebuilding teams as an innings eater, and why would they want a lottery ticket 27 year old reliever? The ideal situation for Lopez might just be putting him in the Ruiz role to see if anything clicks for him as a full-time reliever.
  15. All relievers are failed starters, but most of them aren't effective enough at starting to even make the bigs. Maybe there's something redeemable with Lopez. Him hitting 98 is very interesting... but probably not.
  16. I think Flowers is a different situation because framing wasn't in the public consciousness while he was here. I remember Flowers saying he became aware of catcher framing while watching MLB network! It's not something the Sox were working on with him at all! With Collins it's been something they've tried to improve upon with him since he entered the org and he's still unplayable back there.
  17. I think it's at least arrow up on Collins' bat this season. A rebuilding team *might* think they can improve him defensively or just wait it out until there's an automated zone. But he doesn't have a fit on a contender at all.
  18. Collins going down the Narvaez path and becoming one of the best framers in baseball after leaving would be hilarious.
  19. I think that's very high on the to do list over the off-season. You can't have a platoon DH backing up a 33 year old catcher on a World Series contender. They've given Collins a fair shot to catch this season and he's shown he can't do it.
  20. There are so many different aspects of catcher defense, and it's impressive to me that Collins is equally inept at all of them
  21. If Kelley were in another system I don't think there's a ton of excitement around him. Eric Longenhagen was not kind in discussing what scouts that have seen Kelley told him. Sounds like the scouting reports wouldn't be strong and that's to go with very poor results. He also dealt with an injury. I wouldn't let him stand in the way of acquiring a player like Adam Frazier.
