  1. You're out on an island here, man. Jerry wants to win. That may be the only indisputable thing. Maybe he doesn't know how. Maybe he's loyal to a fault. Whatever the reason, JR wants to win but the White Sox simply haven't or can't.
  2. I cannot like this post enough. That's why the calls on him to sell the team are ridiculous. He owns the team because he wants to win, period. Tough love (not aimed at @Lip Man 1) : if you don't want to support what Jerry is doing, don't. Go find another team or take some time off. Yeah, it's a shame for some of us lifers, but if the way Jerry runs his team makes you mad, don't watch.
  3. Remember when they went for it every year overspending on free agents like Adam LaRoche and Adam Dunn? There are a lot of true things said about JR on this board, but "Jerry doesn't want to win" is BS. He should have spent last offseason, but that doesn't change the fact he wasted so much money on high price low return free agents in order to be competitive.
  4. They invested little or nothing into farm system pitching. That has backfired for them greatly. They knew they were going to have to sign guys and they obviously did, but they HAD to supplement that with their own home grown guys. There are none.
  5. Cub fans calling for Q’s head. Hopefully Cease and Eloy are brilliant
  6. Somehow they're going to get out of it, but I can't help but feel good about how they're doing right now.
  7. The Cubs are a dumpster fire.
  8. That would be nuts. And would be good signs for the next couple of seasons.
  9. He doesn't need pop necessarily (that wouldn't hurt) but he should be better than Podsednik
  10. Not a nickname, but definitely a good name for his rookie season.
  11. I'm going with Houdini
  12. Oh, I understand, lol. I'm with you man. The White Sox kool aid
  13. That Sale start was extremely concerning. I wonder if he's hurt.
  14. They'll move towards the back of their baseball cards, but if not, they're still not big pieces for the future.
  15. Didn't get to watch the game today, but the calls for Moncada's RBI are glorious. Anyone who says Benetti doesn't love the Sox isn't watching.
  16. Right. It may not be this season, but Collins, Madrigal, and Robert would be good
  17. This is obviously quite a high right now, but this is what happens in a rebuild. At some point, all that talent starts to shine. Sure, some may bust but left and right things are looking up.
  18. Good to see talent bubbling to the top
  19. I'll have what he's having. But I am also quite excited.
  20. More like MonGODa
  21. Regardless, this team has been the more compelling of the Chicago clubs through the first week of the season. Future sure looks bright.
  22. Same. I just really like a lot we hear about this kid.
  23. The made a very odd choice when the blew the whole thing up in 2012 to go for only fielding talent. That farm system has been comically horrible at developing pitching talent under Epstein. They knew they were going to have to sign pitchers but man they could benefit from any performance from some home grown guys.
  24. There will be good days and bad days, but performances like this are small indications the White Sox are on the right path
