  1. Seabrook being super slow and bad kind of stings with his ridiculous contract.
  2. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 08:58 AM) I'm more willing to buy into a potential turnaround for Avi than Davidson. Both have ridiculously high BABIPs, but Avi at least has some indicators of a better approach and doesn't have a huge red flag like Matt's 45% K rate (which many posters keep ignoring). I really think Davidson is going to crash & burn in the coming weeks. Avi's kind of a no risk guy in my book. He's not key to the rebuild, his BABIP is ridiculous and no one in the MLB believes in him, so he has no real value. Play well or don't, he likely only serves as a sweetener or a piece to make the team watchable.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:59 PM) LOL at 'the plan.' Great win! Go Sox! Lol at "Greg talks about baseball" Your posts read like Onion articles, and yet you believe every word you say.
  4. Fun to watch Avi play right now.
  5. I enjoy baseball and I'm glad they're winning, but the plan is the plan. They're one game over 500. Someone remind me our record last year after 35 games
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:30 PM) If he has a good year I could see him signing an extension He's probably just young enough, but I can still see them capitalizing on a strong season and moving him. Honestly, though I get the feeling he won't be very good this year. Hopefully Robertson continues to be strong to net more prospects.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:27 PM) Could or couldn't? Bingo. lol I was happy for them last year. Now I really can't care less about them.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 05:05 PM) Chris Sale might go winless and still win the Cy Young, haha. 1.27 era and 12 k's but headed for a no decision, potentially. And no one gives a crap because pitching wins are meaningless.
  9. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 08:07 PM) Speaking of uniforms, am I the only one who is disappointed that they didn't go with the 1917s for the alternate? It seems like the perfect year for it. (100 year anniversary) I would have gone 1959. Sorry, I hate the 83s still. Awful look all around.
  10. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 07:30 PM) IMO, Saladino might be the most underrated player on the team. Frazier and Salad are my favorite players on the team. Great game today. Homer calls for Cleveland's Opening Day and some bad luck here and there or we would have won. Well, you're in luck. Seems like at least Saladino will be kept.
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) Make that four and I agree it's a solid idea. You're five
  12. The current team is like Robin Arryn, but Jon Snow is in the minors.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 02:04 PM) Definitely. They also need to realize that an injury to the Cubs, Dodgers, Rangers etc could spark a team to just get a Quintana deal done really fast. Cubs and Dodgers are particularly intriguing. A guy like Ian Happ would look great in black and white pinstripes
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 01:31 PM) Not me. I don't trust draft picks. I prefer the spend, spend, spend method to go with a few homegrown talents. Sox deserve to be mocked by deadspin all season. This team is built to lose and lose big. BTW if Robertson has a few good outings and they are serious about a rebuild, they should dump him ASAP for prospects to somebody desperate for relievers, cough cough the Royals. Ditto Q. He had a decent performance last game. Trade him now to somebody desperate for a starter if you are serious about a rebuild. No need to wait. You would prefer the method that is untenable and ineffective.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 10:56 AM) Kris Bryant is coming to my workplace in an hour to do a promotional batting practice thing. When will this every day nightmare end Best focus on the White Sox rebuilding. The Cubs will be winning for the foreseeable future.
  16. The worst part about this Cubs ceremony is it's likely the first of a few
  17. It's really hard to worry about the big league club when Moncada is playing this well.
  18. This Cubs baby segment is super awkward.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 11:36 PM) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2702713...by-local-police Otis Nixon reported as missing to ATL police...hope this story turns out to be an overreaction and nothing has actually happened to him Sounds like he's found and okay.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 05:53 PM) For this team to be in contention for the #1 pick, that likely means winning 50 some games. It's hard to believe that any of the assets we'd be looking to trade outside of Quintana, and perhaps Jones and Robertson would have any value in that scenario. Getting meaningful assets for Frazier, Melky and onwards down the roster is going to be very important to progress this rebuild in any significant manner. That seems like a reasonable hypothesis, but depending on when we trade these assets, we may lose a lot more games after. Also, we will probably be worse next year and get another high pick.
  21. QUOTE (AJUribe @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 11:45 PM) I've heard whispers he may be available by the trade deadline. From my sources losing the first two starts have tempered interests in a few possibly contending team. Teams that were interested do want to acquire the southpaw from southern hemisphere and are now quietly rooting for the young man to have an inflated era in the hopes they can somehow get a better deal. Basically Q is going to be awful for us because it is simply impossible for him to care when he knows he's getting traded and it completely effects his entire psyche. Hahn's a ballbreaker and l think he'd rather sit on Q before taking a penny less than his preseason asking price. Dude. He's a professional baseball player. He can handle it.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 05:20 PM) Give him a chance He has had more than enough chances. He can't outhit the way he plays right field and I'll take Abreu at DH first.
  23. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 03:36 AM) A lot of people liked the team last year at this time. Just look how it turned out.... Right. They're playing okay, but there is nothing going on to indicate that the Sox should change direction

QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 09:06 PM) Charlotte vs. the Sox...who wins? The White Sox organization. We're very early in the rebuild process, but Charlotte's play is currently very encouraging. I would expect the Knights to be good for a while as we cycle in new young talent
  25. QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 05:20 PM) With this game Avi bought himself another 200 ABs this season. If we're lucky, a lot of them will be for another team.
