  1. Hopefully a good game for Q. Gotta up that value.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 08:11 PM) The S8's hardware looks great. I contemplated ordering one. Then I remembered Samsung's crap software goes to a crawl after a few months like Windows Vista. I hope Samsung at least pioneered the industry for new screen technology and design. Because the S8 is a gorgeous piece of hardware. Android rots bad enough without bloatware. Samsung still has the least forgivable software lag. Add to that the ridiculously high price. Android folks who want a phone as good should order themselves a OnePlus 3T and use the extra $300 for something else.
  3. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 07:12 AM) The line up might actually produce more runs later in the season with the young guys + Abreu if the Sox keep him around for Moncada's sake. Ideally the Sox could move Q, Shields and Gonzalez but then who the hell starts ? The Rodon situation doesn't feel right, like it's a precursor to a larger injury. Sox might want to sign Peavy or Fister or Edwin Jackson or check into the remaining free agent starters. I think they need another guy to eat innings when Covey , Shields and Gonzalez all bomb. They will wreck their bullpen arms. Yeah, the Sox will find someone to pitch, but we're not going to like it. On the bright side, this has a chance to be the worst season of it. At least Moncada might be exciting.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:42 AM) They played game 2 of the 2005 WS in far worse conditions. I wonder why this is...
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:22 AM) For a rebuilding team, the Sox have very few young players. Anderson is obviously the big one, but Narvaez and May are probably long shots to ever be part of the future core. Saladino is hardly a youngster and the pitching staff other than Covey, who seems like an organizational arm at best, are veterans. The organization has long been lacking positional talent. They're kind of stuck with what they have at the Major League level. We're so early in this rebuild that the goal is to have players play well enough to grow their value for potential trades. On one hand, having some seriously valuable pieces can certainly jumpstart your rebuild. On the other, it feels like we're just so far away from the "competitive" White Sox.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 09:32 PM) It's all uphill from here! Bout time to start our first beer run.
  7. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 09:21 PM) They should totally bring back the vest. I think the Rockies are the only team that still wears them. It says a lot that the Rockies and the White Sox have the same look and the Rockies haven't really changed their home whites since their creation. Such an awesome look.
  8. Jeremiah Tilmon has announced he will still attend Illinois. Big keep for Underwood.
  9. Rougned Odor has two homers in two at-bats. Total stud
  10. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 05:16 PM) There are many periods of White Sox history when the White Sox home uniforms did not have pinstripes. . Point taken, but still doesn't change the fact that the Sox have a long history of wearing pinstripes and it is far and away their best look
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 04:25 PM) This game could be official by now. Real bad organizational decision at this point stunningly bad actually. REO Speedwagon sang the national anthem ....that's the state of this piss poor organization right now. Wasted $110 a seat for this. Once they say the game is on, they're going to wait quite a while. They want you to see baseball because most of you can't come back tomorrow.
  12. My MLB TV session is just a black screen. Ah, baseball.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 10:29 AM) This. They are the perfect example of 80's awfulness. Right. And the foundation of the slant Sox old english logo is just so strong. The idea of even rebranding to a batterman-type logo (looking like spring training) might be the worst suggestion. If anything, I would update the uniform and keep the logo. And even then, I wouldn't do it. The White Sox have had pinstripes as long as the Yankees have.
  14. Man, I wish I lived in Chicago right now! Everyone going today have a safe drive and stay dry!
  15. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 09:13 AM) I don't know... I think losing like that can be bad on a young player's psyche. Plus none of this tanking stuff will work like we want it to if JR won't let Rick Hahn make the trades to get young talent for the proven veterans. That is my concern. Like the Sale trade? Sox management has been unified on this front for a while. And as far as psyche, there's really not a high probability that Tim Anderson or any one young guy is going to play to the point that the Sox are suddenly contenders. The young guys can play well and they can still lose.
  16. Too bad they're going to have to close the dome... ...
  17. QUOTE (Tmar @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 05:58 AM) Yeah the 83 jerseys are universally lauded soooo you guys who don't like them are in the minority. Let's make it a silent minority They are terrible and dated and that's the end of it. Just be happy our current uni is awesome and has roots in the 1950s. A modern classic
  18. It's a double entendre. Tank for the best player in the draft "Beer" AND tank while we drink a boatload of beer because the team is bad
  19. Cubs look like they could use Robertson
  20. QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 10:25 PM) The 83 jersey hate is unwarranted. Those are the best jerseys they have. Our current pinstripe look is a modern classic. The 83s are tacky.
  21. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 10:04 PM) Me too man, I'm in Cedar Park Yeah. North Austin for me. I catch the Ice Hogs every time they're here and Dell Diamond is a great minor league ballpark. I show up in Sox apparel when we go to Iowa Cubs games, though.
