  1. Do you really think the only difference between Himes and KW is draft position? If those 4 had come through a KW regime, there's a decent chance they would have been peddled for mediocre veterans before reaching the show.
  2. Maybe if we built something from within that had a chance to be sustainable, people would be more excited/optimistic. That's what happened in the 90s.
  3. Small sample size in his MLB at bats. Scouts say he matured at AAA this year as a hitter, and has the potential to be a legitimate starter. I'd post the quote, but I don't like your tone. You can find it yourself. I'd rather throw a real 3b with some promise out there than a washed up 2B. Nice analysis. Next.
  4. There are a lot of non-prospect 3Bs in AAA who would be significant upgrades to what we have now. They could be had for next to nothing -- for example, look at what Arizona did to get Josh Bell from Baltimore. You don't need to spend millions of dollars to get Youk in order to improve the position. That's the lazy way out.
  5. I think I've had enough of KW. You can improve the 3B situation without spending a ton of money -- IF you are willing to think outside the box.
  6. Jeeze man - Lots of hate in your message. He would be way better than Hudson, Morel, or anyone else we have in the minors right now. That's a fact. If that pisses you off, be mad at KW, not me.
  7. Other possibilities include: -Ryan Wheeler -Scott Moore -Brandon Hicks -Conor Gillaspie Could someone with ties email this list to KW? KThx
  8. This guy would be a significant upgrade, and could be acquired cheaply: http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?p...&pid=435222 I'm dead serious.
  9. Even a non-prospect who is stuck in AAA would be better than what we have. Isn't there a non-prospect 3B in AAA somewhere putting up an OPS of .700 that we could acquire? I'm thinking about someone like Josh Bell...
  10. You're absolutely right. But, Stewart has already shown us that he can't pitch in the bigs. The jury is still out on DA.
  11. If true, good. I have no idea if Axelrod can pitch at the major league level, but his AAA numbers have earned him the chance to try.
  12. Cooper doesn't believe in velocity, remember?
  13. Jeeze-- the title of this thread made me think that we traded him for Soriano or something... I'm relieved.
  14. Obligatory comment about how Cooper emphasizes movement over velocity.
  15. How can we lose a home series to these assholes?
  16. I'd LOVE Chase Headley, although it would likely cost Mitchell and a pitching prospect. If you look at the guy's lines away from San Diego, you realize that he might be one of the top 10 3Bs in the game.
  17. Not a lot of 26 year old rookies go on to be starters.
