  1. He's a bad player. It's difficult to accept because he has the pedigree and the attitude to be good, and physically he just looks like he SHOULD be a ballplayer. But he's nearly 26 years old, has over 1600 MLB at at bats, and his career OBP is .313. He's a bad player.
  2. Doesn't change the truth about him, but thanks for running into one Gordon.
  3. Hopefully this time next year they'll have fixed 2B like they addressed 3B.
  4. Notice that their relievers are throwing strikes. That's the difference today.
  5. He's a better player than Hudson. That was my point, and I stand by it.
  6. Scott Olsen! I forgot that the Sox currently have Scott Olsen in AAA. Does anyone know what his velocity is down there? If he's healthy, he might be a good bullpen option. He was a good major league starter, once upon a time.
  7. Good pick up. Lefty reliever who throws in the 92 mph vicinity. Was once the fourth overall pick of the 2007 draft. He's only 26; if he is healthy, he might benefit from our renowned pitching coaches.
  8. Feels good to sweep baseball's best organization.
  9. Price in a landslide. His delivery is perfect. And I love Sale...
  10. They will. Trust me. Sincerely, The Pythagorean Theorem
  11. The Sox are going to need every reliever they have to get through the next 3 innings.
  12. WTF is Ventura doing with the bullpen? Need to give Septimo the opportunity to get out of that mess.
  13. Probably not too concerned with protecting his arm.
  14. Why are you counting on it? Vague shoulder injuries + non-specific recovery timelines = not good.
  15. Don't have the system for that type of deal. All we need is someone good enough to replace Humber/Axelrod. I'll take my chances with Sale and Peavy in the playoffs.
  16. This is the first time I've ever seen Dylan pitch, and... MAN does he not trust his stuff. Poor SOB.
  17. Like fathom implied, I'm not expecting to see him again this year.
  18. The Sox are really one SP away from being a force. They need to get the best SP out there that they can get for Mitchell. Whoever they get might not be much, but he would be an improvement. Liriano anyone?
  19. No. Unless you are getting a legit closer type (not guys like League), you end up overpaying for middle-relief guys whose performances are highly variable. Our new guys pass the eye test (i.e., have good stuff) and have good minor league numbers. They're ready, they just need an opportunity.
  20. Sox are getting owned by Dwayne Wise and a 37 year old junkballer. #baseballisweird
  21. I wonder what his xFIP is during that time? He certainly hasn't seemed impressive since 2008... Not that it matters. He's going to be here for a long time. I'll hope for the best.
