  1. For the first time ever Gameday is going to Ames Isn't there a big ISU fan on this board?
  2. Unfortunately Denver's defense is really good and Denver's an extremely difficult place to play, especially in September. Luckily the Broncos' OL is a mess. It might be another 10-3 final.
  3. Surprised based on their power numbers that the first Twin to be suspended is a fat pitcher It was 80 games which he appealed down to 60 discuss
  4. That's the point. Their $4m a year kicker missed a game winner at home against the defending champs after a great Trubisky drive & with a shot at the Rams on the line, a team their D manhandled 6 weeks prior. The Philly game was more anticipated. Before that the 2 playoff games in winter of 2011. Don't go crazy now.
  5. Yeah the Philly game was much more anticipated & thus more disappointing
  6. But it's two days later so stop with the bad takes. I'm up in the air if I'd want Pace to pick another qb but we all should be since IT'S WEEK ONE. Trubisky wasn't good in week 1 last year and ended up having a decent year. Let it play out
  7. Dude you're going to be backtracking on this take within a week. You're going to blame it on how quickly you jump to conclusions. This is maybe you're worst take yet. Pace took over an old and complete horseshit roster and within a few years they were a kicker away from a deep playoff run. He traded for Mack. He signed Hicks and Amukamara. Look at the players he has drafted since taking over- Amos, Goldman, Jackson, Cohen, Bush, Whitehair, Floyd, Howard. I'm not ready to jump on Smith, Daniels, Nichols, Wims. Montgomery, etc because no one knows how good they'll be. I think you're underestimating how bad that roster was. Besides Jeffery, Long and Fuller, Emery was a complete disaster. No shit Angelo's resume is better. He had 11 years, and fwiw, 3 playoff wins in 11 years is horrific. Give Pace time. I can't believe how fast this fan base has changed their minds. They lost against the Packers in brutal fashion, I get it, but a week ago everyone was predicting at least a playoff berth. Relax
  8. I totally missed this. Comparing Pace to Angelo after 1 loss. What a fucking dumb fan base. Unreal
  9. Churros are cash only as well IIRC
  10. Then I guess it doesn't depend on the turnover situation. The Bears forced 0 against Green Bay and still held them to 10 points. If they can do that vs that QB and that OL (which isn't great but much better than Denver's), it's possible. That's my fear. It's probably too early to make that judgement but the last 6 games have been brutal
  11. Of course predicting a team to score <10 is a far greater risk than >10 but the Broncos OL is horrible & Flacco probably isn't good either. I could see that final being 9-6 or 9-7
  12. I can't tell if this is just an idea or if it's really happening. The website doesn't seem ultra reputable.
  13. You clearly didn't read what I said. I'm not excusing anything except his time with John Fox. Also he played pretty well vs the Pats, Seahawks and Vikings (road) last year and those weren't some of the worst teams/defenses.
  14. Yeah those first 12 games with Fox and Loggains sure were valuable My biggest issue with Trubisky right now is his lack of good play in primetime games. Those are the ones the nation sees and those are the ones we rate highest as Bears fans because they're usually against good teams/important games. He's really bad on primetime but really good outside of those games. I think his TD/INT ratio is like 1:2 in primetime but better than 3:1 otherwise

Subsequently, if that shit attitude is combined with a terrible work ethic, you're done. Me, I'll complain every now and again about work and I've certainly aced the idea of pointing out the flaws in others, but I can fake it with the best of them and I come to work every day to work. I don't come to talk and be friends with coworkers or even clients. I come to work. My parents both had good jobs on the surface in terms of risk and safety but they did them in extremely tough work environments. What I do for a living is very white collar but I put everything I have into it and I know not to b**** profusely because of what I saw how hard working my parents were despite the shitty surroundings that they had. From reading Jack's posts, particularly in this subforum in many topics but particularly this one, it's not like he's picky on the job offered but he hates to take order no matter how simplistic. That's life, dude. If you were hard enough and forget about the fact that you're taking "orders," you'll soon be in their shoes bossing people around and likely taking less verbal abuse.
  16. Roethlisberger had 16. Mayfield had 14 (in 14 games). I'm not sure what Rodgers has to do with this, since I 1) never mentioned him and 2) I don't think he's the measuring stick for "pay him or don't pay him." If he was, no one would be getting paid besides him and Brady.

I know I'm late on this and I also know we've had our differences, but this sounds like a script from a Saw movie when the person in a trap wakes up and moves which starts the TV/video tape and Jigsaw talks/explains why they're in the situation. All you needed was a "Hello Jack. I'd like to play a game." Well done.
  18. I helped my neighbor with his team. 10 team league. Here are the starters: Russell Wilson Duke Johnson Kerryon Johnson Julio Jones Michael Thomas Adam Thielen (flex) Vance McDonald Kaimi Fairbairn Chargers D Thoughts?
  19. How did Trubisky hold them back last year? You're probably right but Mayfield, Roethlisberger and Brady all got close to 17 last year iirc. If they believe in Trubisky he'll be throwing even more this season
  20. Gabriel was really good last year. Statistically he was as sure handed as there was in the entire league. I'm not sure how much better you want the depth to be. Cohen can play WR, Patterson is a weapon, Gabriel caught everything thrown at him, Robinson and Miller are good, and Wims and Ridley are developmental guys. I don't buy the tough schedule thing. The Bears beat the Rams and Seahawks last year. They lost to Green Bay, Miami and the Giants. Good teams sometimes lose to bad teams and vice versa. If the Bears are as good as we think, a tough schedule won't matter. Seattle, NE, Pittsburgh, etc play tough schedules annually and they have no problem repeating success. A lot of teams also have a lack of depth. Depth is just something in fans' imaginations that help them get through a potential severe injury. I mean truly, don't they? Whether it's the Dolphins or Patriots, if they lose their best TE and best CB, they'll probably be in trouble. The Seahawks didn't keep Davis because they have a really good RB (Carson) and another RB who they're very high on and traded up for (Penney). Why keep Davis for $4M especially when they're already tight against the cap? BTW, I doubt the Bears are going to be relying on this guy a ton this year. You also forgot to mention Cohen in the part about RB's. You're probably right on Montgomery and the hype, but the hype comes from the fact that he's a perfect fit as an RB in Nagy's offense and everyone on the team loves him. I'd love to see Trubisky improve also, but he was 24/12 in really year 1 last year + another 4 rush TD's and a 67% completion rate. If he throws another 12 touchdowns this year and another 5 INT's, I'd say that's good enough imo.
  21. Who cares? He came up in a meaningless year and did some good things. He'll grow next year, see Moncada see Giolito. No need to whine all the time.
