  1. At this stage of his career, Giolito isn’t good enough to pitch over errors. This could turn out disastrous.
  2. Yeah, as they showed Delmonico with his hand wrapped up
  3. Kind of an ominous shot of Palka, Delmonico and Engel hanging out before the game today with Palka wearing a shirt that reads “the best ability is availability.” Yikes.
  4. It's no secret that I'm not a huge Delmonico fan, but you never want to see this happen to anyone.
  5. Exactly. If they go down to Charlotte and stink up the joint, then they weren’t rebuild keepers, which quite honestly, some of these guys won’t be. They aren’t all going to pan out.
  6. If you send Fulmer to AAA and he sucks, you leave him there and he becomes a minor leaguer for the rest of his career. Same with Giolito.
  7. Maybe he would take it, though. For me it's almost a toss up. Could it hurt to try? Sale took his deal. Anderson took his deal. Trout took his. Maybe Moncada would.
  8. I thought I saw someone in this thread who said more people have been killed in shootings in 2018 than military. Am I imagining things? I can't seem to find it.
  9. Would Moncada accept an extension right now? Say, 8 years/$150M?
  10. You know, I was a youngster during 9/11, but I always thought that when they found Osama, they should bring him back to the US. Tie him up in the middle of NYC. For a $5, you can punch him once. You can get unlimited punches. Every dollar given goes to the victims' families. Maybe we can do this for these idiots, too.
  11. That’s kind of what I said but then it turned into “oh so like airport security?” and “oh so like prison?” No, it’s called safety. Metal detectors are a start. Patting down those who set the detector off is a start. Doors are indeed locked but with a simple buzz in, not letting everyone in just because they say they have someone to pick up is a start.
  12. Make it like a Sox game. Empty your pockets, walk through metal detectors. If it beeps, you get patted down and your bag searched.
  13. Yeah, putting in extra security to prevent child death sure sounds like all the prisons I've read about. Also, my argument is to rid guns, not to put these precautions in place so people can still have guns. It's to eliminate usage of guns for people who shouldn't have guns. The amount of times I'd get my brother out of high school for a dentist or doctors appointment and I'd buzz in, someone would say "can we help you?" and I'd say "I need to get my brother" followed by a quick buzz to let me in was sick. I could have been ANYBODY with ANY weapon.
  14. Metal detectors as kids walk into schools, extra security and police as kids walk into school + at recess, all doors lock to the outside during school hours, and as opposed to buzzing in and just saying anything to get in, someone is there to ensure it is a valid reason. That might be a start.
  15. I don't give a s*** who didn't do anything. Trump, Obama, Lincoln, IDGAF. It's also not my job to come up with a solution. It's their job. I do know that continuing to come up with ZERO ideas is not working out.
  16. I'm so sick of the "thoughts & prayers" stuff. Thoughts and prayers don't help. They continue to not help, and unless praying and thinking AFTER THE FACT brings back kids from the dead, everyone can just stop with that nonsense. It's time for people in charge to step up and make changes, not to pray and think; this is absurd. Absolutely sickening. If it was a minority, Trump would be pounding the table for stricter immigration laws, but since it's usually a white person, we just sit here with our thumbs up our f***ing a**es and "pray" and worry about s*** that should be secondary, like not letting muslim and Hispanic people in the country.
  17. In terms of what they could receive from the Cubs, I'm not sure that they have "more controllable" talent.
  18. Well yes, his results from 2013-2016 sucked ass and he should be blame, but WBWSF wants this roster constructed exactly as those teams were- a group of vets (Dunn, Eaton, Sale, Quintana, Danks) mixed with up and coming players (Abreu, Avi, Beckham), so it's hard for someone like WBWSF and Greg to say "he has stunk every year!" after he structured the team exactly how they wanted him to. What I'm trying to say is: it's surprising that those 2 posters are upset with his teams from 2013-2016. You can absolutely blame him for 2017-2018, but again, they admitted to a rebuild. No matter the GM, last year's and this year's roster would suck.
