I just saw that happen too. I don't care if I'm sounding like some conspiracy theorist, but the way Texas is playing in this series it seems as if they are trying to throw the series. Its unbelievable how f***ing lazy Texas has been this series; seems as if they are afraid of them. Ah s***, now the cubs have runners on 1st,3rd with no outs. Corky hit a jack the first inning, and Cubs lead 1-0 in the second. :fthecubs

I don't think there are many on this board that are disappointed with the Sox over this series more then the stupid ass move Manuel made starting Cotts tonight. Unless information comes out about Buehrle experiencing soreness or some other ligitament reason for not starting then many will be disappointed with this loss. I was listening to Carmen and McNeil after Dave Wills post game show, and of course Manuels pitching controversy was the hot topic. Supposedly Manuel flip flopped the two pitchers the last couple days; even stating there was a 99% chance Buehrle was starting. JM, of all people. doesnt need to be in a position to piss the fans or the players off any more then he has already done. It may seem stupid to pass a sweep of the Yanks, but winning the next three games almost guarantees us to gain ground on someone. Maybe Manuel was thinking ahead to upcoming games in Detroit, knowing how s***ty we play there and how important it will be to start the series with Buehrle. But the opposite arguement is that Manuel basically f***ed over this game today as a blow off. Might as well of started Willie Harris,Rowand, and Daubach.

Its called the princeton review. U of I made the list. Unfortunately UIC didnt

Gammonds says Esteban Loaiza is the BEST pitcher in the entire major league. Este beat out Nomo in Gammonds pick between the best pitchers in the AL,NL. Dumbass online voters gave Este 19% of the votes when the question was asked who was the best pitcher in baseball. How can anyone still doubt this guy, he shut out the Yanks and surrendered one damn hit.

If Irony does its thing, we should do well during the next two games. Who would of thought of The Sox beating New York 13-2 at Yankee Stadium. Seems like whenever someone on this board (or WSI) calls out a player due to a slump that person seems to have a hell of a game. I've seen it happen with Carl Everett, Frank Thomas, and just today Paul Konerko. And unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe anyone from the central has won a game in Yankee Stadium. I know for sure Minn and Kc haven't. Most Yankee fans thought they would f***ing steamroll through us. Good win but Its a travesty that Anaheim and Texas couldnt help us out tonight.

I dont know why that bugs me so much. But I'm sure if Carlos Lee was in Animal House or Old School Heather would of seen it.

Heather, how can you be in college and not see those movies? Those two alone made everyone look forward to college, and every person who has graduated reflect back on the good times they had. You must not graduate until you make a trip up to the video store and rent Old School and Animal House. I forbid it. All together they're hilarious movies which Im sure you can relate to after a couple years in college. I dont think you could go into a bar, or room full of people and say.... "Frank the tank...............Frank the tank.................Frank the tank.........." Without atleast 5 people replying........ "YOU KNOW IT........YOU KNOW IT!!!!!!!!!!" Belushi, god bless him.

I was really looking for some advice, but I have some questions anyhow. --Are their any school dances or social events: Homecoming, Winterfest, etc. Anything that you could bring a date to. --Do you get any bull s*** holidays off: Columbus Day, Pulaski Day, Teacher Institutes. --Are winterbreak, springbreak, or summerbreak shortened compared to the time spent off in high school. --From your experience would you compare college to Animal House or Old School. Even though old school was about guys out of college starting a fraternity;it was just the view of college being a f***fest tied in with heavy drinking. (Heather, you could probably best answer that going to ISU......which I know for sure has some good parties.)

Im an incoming freshman this year at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I start next Mon., and although I went through all the orientation (where dips***s explained college life) I was wondering if any of you had any advice to share. Although it blows UIC isnt considered a party school, atleast I'll be only 10 minutes away from The Cell. Just have to take Roosevelt to the Dan Ryan, D-R to 35th. Its f***n sweet.

No...............god no. 8-7 Yankees. Why cant anyone get these groundballs. Why must I always be wrong.
-
What a break. 2 outs, slow ass sweeney on third. The yankees luck continues.
-
THAT BALL SHOULD OF BEEN CAUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-6 yankees.........
-
Oh s***. 8-5 Yankees with men on 1st,2nd with 1 out.
-
Enter Sandman plays............the show stopper has entered the game. Royals trying to make a comeback but will end up just giving themselves false hope.

Bmr is believing in this team...............I recall a couple days ago being b****ed at and was asked "If I was blind" when I said the Sox could turn it around when they get home. But Im guilty of Sox bashing too, including a post I made yesterday that the Sox would lose the game and didnt deserve to be in a divisional race. Good to get going with 2 wins in a row, and pull within 1 game of KC. Other then a White Sox win tomorrow, we really need Cleveland to shut Minn down. Atleast have more space in the division going into the weekend.

Why no posts for the last 3 hours, didn't we win?

Seems back to normal now. Unless theres a problem when I send this I seemed to have missed the server being down. Too bad it decides to work again around 2 in the morning. To a great white sox win. -
Bears might as well just go out and say they have no hopes for this season. How can you trade the Mini-Fridge to the Pats. Colvin is already tearing it up over there, now we give them another defensive monster. Anyways, Bears always have terrible picks in the draft so it will end up being wasted.

Game Thread (8-19): Anaheim at Chicago White Sox
Flash Tizzle replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Dammit, Olivo is back in the lineup. Maybe some time off for Manimal can teach him not to swing at curves in the dirt. Good lineup though, should be like this from now till the end of the season. -
Jim Hendry must of been spending long nights on the phone again...................... . What a horrible trade. That article is good at pointing out how capable Martinez and Grudzilanek are of playing second base. No matter how vital you think these players are, it really disrupts your clubhouse chemistry to constantly be adding players and switching positions. How can your pitcher feel confident on the bump when he doesnt know half the infielders behind him? Hendry seems to be quick on the trigger, willing to add anybody at a moments notice. Whats even worse is nearly all these acquisitions: Womack,Lofton,Simon,Ramirez might not even be there next season. I realize the same situation could be said about Alomar and Everett, but Kenny Williams moves were made to fill obvious gaps in our lineup. The Sox moves were seen as ligitimate, rather then a move for the sake of making one. :fthecubs

Frank reminds us all of the eddie guardado at bat in the Twins series with that one. Great win for the Sox, and Frank does yardwork twice; just like that game too. We needed this win with Kc losing 11-6 in the 9th. Heres to the Sox. 2 games out
