Im thankful that I missed the game tonight. I would of been screaming s*** at my TV, or going completely nuts on this message board. I dont have confidence in Garland tomorrow to get us out of this hole. Seems hes always good for giving up 4 or 5 runs, and Maroth is due for a good start. Although Im expecting Loaiza to do good for the finale. He needs an easy win before the upcoming stretch to build his confidence in the event of a bad start. If we do somehow get swept, chances are that we will drop out of first (possibly second). The worst possible scenario can only leave us 2 games out. Im not going to say their are alot of games left to make up, but there is 9 game homestand coming up. 4 of which are against Minn. Besides the Cleveland series next weekend, every remaining series left is against playoff contenders. Sox do well against good teams that aren't called the Mariners and maybe its better that we are facing these teams in the final month. Easier schedules will put more pressure on KC,MInn to win every series.

Well Sox better be playing well with Buehrle, its not looking good for Texas; who are losing 4-1 in the 8th. This Detroit series can make up for the s*** performances that have proceeded this upcoming matchup. I honestly am expecting a sweep of the Tigers. But once again (what always seems to happen in critical series) the Sox are facing a pitcher they've never seen. Bill Melton made a comment on the post game show today that the Sox have faced 20 never-before seen pitchers this season. I didn't catch the record during these game, but needless to say its not good.

I just saw that happen too. I don't care if I'm sounding like some conspiracy theorist, but the way Texas is playing in this series it seems as if they are trying to throw the series. I don't think there are many on this board that are disappointed with the Sox over this series more then the stupid ass move Manuel made starting Cotts tonight. Unless information comes out about Buehrle experiencing soreness or some other ligitament reason for not starting then many will be disappointed with this loss. I was listening to Carmen and McNeil after Dave Wills post game show, and of course Manuels pitching controversy was the hot topic. Supposedly Manuel flip flopped the two pitchers the last couple days; even stating there was a 99% chance Buehrle was starting. JM, of all people. doesnt need to be in a position to piss the fans or the players off any more then he has already done. It may seem stupid to pass a sweep of the Yanks, but winning the next three games almost guarantees us to gain ground on someone. Maybe Manuel was thinking ahead to upcoming games in Detroit, knowing how s***ty we play there and how important it will be to start the series with Buehrle. But the opposite arguement is that Manuel basically f***ed over this game today as a blow off. Might as well of started Willie Harris,Rowand, and Daubach.

Gammonds says Esteban Loaiza is the BEST pitcher in the entire major league. Este beat out Nomo in Gammonds pick between the best pitchers in the AL,NL. Dumbass online voters gave Este 19% of the votes when the question was asked who was the best pitcher in baseball. How can anyone still doubt this guy, he shut out the Yanks and surrendered one damn hit.

If Irony does its thing, we should do well during the next two games. Who would of thought of The Sox beating New York 13-2 at Yankee Stadium. Seems like whenever someone on this board (or WSI) calls out a player due to a slump that person seems to have a hell of a game. I've seen it happen with Carl Everett, Frank Thomas, and just today Paul Konerko. And unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe anyone from the central has won a game in Yankee Stadium. I know for sure Minn and Kc haven't. Most Yankee fans thought they would f***ing steamroll through us. Good win but Its a travesty that Anaheim and Texas couldnt help us out tonight.

Heather, how can you be in college and not see those movies? Those two alone made everyone look forward to college, and every person who has graduated reflect back on the good times they had. You must not graduate until you make a trip up to the video store and rent Old School and Animal House. I forbid it. All together they're hilarious movies which Im sure you can relate to after a couple years in college. I dont think you could go into a bar, or room full of people and say.... I was really looking for some advice, but I have some questions anyhow. --Are their any school dances or social events: Homecoming, Winterfest, etc. Anything that you could bring a date to. --Do you get any bull s*** holidays off: Columbus Day, Pulaski Day, Teacher Institutes. --Are winterbreak, springbreak, or summerbreak shortened compared to the time spent off in high school. --From your experience would you compare college to Animal House or Old School. Even though old school was about guys out of college starting a fraternity;it was just the view of college being a f***fest tied in with heavy drinking. (Heather, you could probably best answer that going to ISU......which I know for sure has some good parties.)

Im an incoming freshman this year at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I start next Mon., and although I went through all the orientation (where dips***s explained college life) I was wondering if any of you had any advice to share.
