QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Go try the demos they have for 360 at Best Buy, I almost wet my pants trying out King Kong. Its gonna be an AMAZING system. As for this MVP NCAA Baseball, this is gonna horribly fail. The majority of baseball fans out there couldnt name 5 college baseball players, let alone know what the best team in nation is. 2k sports will own baseball for here on out becuase it has the MLB license, much like Madden did for football this year. Hell, 2k sports already came out with a World Series Edition for this year's game... which I suggest picking up, updated rosters (though no Bobby Jenks) and realistic pennant chases from this year. EA Sports is the biggest joke in the gaming industry.... same game year after year, different player on the cover. This year's Madden is one of the worst football video games Ive ever played. why do some people feel a great need for such company loyalty? I enjoy ea games, but i also enjoy 2k games as well......i've seen way too many nerd fights over this. whoever comes out with the better product, i'll buy.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Thanks for the advice once again Tex. the stat that my advisor loves to throw in his emails : after 5 years, something like 75% of graduates are doing something completely unrelated to their major.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) It could be worse. You could have your degree with no experience and no job lined up like me. i'll be stating that same sentence in 2 years. Seriously, i'm trying to find some internships this summer, applied to probably about 10 of em, nothing.........i'm no good at life.

i honestly don't think i've ever been so excited for a game to come out. This is going to be such a breath of fresh air in the baseball videogame world. A baseball videogame.........where there will actually be a franchise mode that you can play through multiple years?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) It depends on what you mean by employable. Unless you want to be married to a city that has a major financial presence (LA, CHI, NYC etc) you are going to have a hard time finding a job. It is a very specialized industry. Much of what you will find is stuff that finance people would get into, unless you get into either working for the Government (such as a fed bank), trading of some sort, or working as an economist for a financial institution. (which would require a doctorate.) So unless you are willing to do something that isn't quite econ, you might be better served looking at business/accounting/finance/management/marketing. I have worked in trading for 7 years now after majoring in Econ in college so if you have any questions about either, let me know. maybe it was my advisor just being very "advisor-y", but he told me that economics majors from here will usually get the same type of jobs the guys from finance and such will get. now you got me worried, you whore

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) University of Illinois - Chicago ok, as far as i know, UIC's specialty is their business school.....just something to be considered.
-
I'm an economics major right now, with a concentration on the business side. My school offers a whole bunch of different econ concentrations. Pros -employable -if you like numbers, but not too much ridiculous math -its economics, it's practical and can be interesting if taught right. Cons -not everyone's cup of tea .... what school do you go to nite?

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) -The Sox and Sox merchandise (rarely walk out of the house without something Sox) "don't you have any clothes that don't have a sox logo on it?" -a friend to me yesterday. Thinking about it, i have a gigantic sox rotation for the winter now.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 11:31 PM) Maybe something even funnier will happen at Soxfest this time around and than the story can die by the way side, only to be brought up at every Soxfest from here on out. And don't feel bad, we have other material, but if I mentioned the other material I don't think I'd live to tell about it. I definitely can't wait..........now just to get tickets somehow.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) For me it's impossible to keep a cap clean. If I wear it, my head will sweat and eventually it will get dirty. i think hats look better when they're a little broken in and dirty, but that's just scumbag me.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Pitcher's hand and ghost runners. There were ALWAYS arguments on whether the ghost runner would have been fast enough to score... oh man, that brought back a whole lot of memories

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) I think I am about to retire my lucky hat. I wore it for the day I was married, the Sox won the World Series, and my baby was born. It is falling apart now with the stitching coming up on the bill, and it is a dirty, dirty shade of brown. the hat has "character"
