the friday game against the a's this year we had willie harris playing 2nd and in the 2 hole. During that game he had 3 chances to move scott pods over w/ no outs. All those times he failed and the run never came in. We lost the game 4-2. Gooch is needed in the 2 hole. He also has an advantage because he's seeing better pitches when pitchers are worried about pods. Keep him there.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) I agree Frank needs a day off. He has been lost for about a week now. this is why it's good to have depth and not trade off someone that can't start all the time. Some people wanted thomas or everett gone, but this depth is overall going to help us bigtime. Your right, frank needs some time off. And i think rowand needs some time off to, he's been looking pretty terrible. Everett will get his time in, definitely

Just got done playing my first game on heisman (default) i lost 35-22 (i was georgia, playing GT) I felt like i lost fair and square, throwing a big pick late in the game. I didn't think it was cheap at all. I'll play a few more exhibitions and see what i think. But so far, so good. There are some slider guys that are saying, put it on heisman, put ALL off/def sliders to 0, and it plays great. If i get frustrated w/ default, i'm gonna try that. And rex, no, the discipline cannot be turned off, unfortunately

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) My 11.75 meal everytime I go, two pieces of Connie's pizza and a large coke. No wonder I'm so poor ewww. the pizza is just so bland. I can get better pizza anywhere near my house, you gotta go w/ the dogs/brats and the park. You won't find a better one anywhere

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) I never really got it. I thought it looked silly seeing socks being waved. I always thought the White Sox thing was "Nah-Nah..Hey Hey Goodbye" when we started rallying. When Nancy pounds out the first few chords after we've pounded a pitcher...it still gives me chills. Do we need socks, too? Maybe I'm being silly. stop saying silly silly

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) I live 5 minutes away (walking distance) i'm jealous. I can't imagine how many games i'd go to if i didn't have to deal with driving and paying the ridiculous parking

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) I'm sure this has been done several times in the past, but I'm too lazy to search it. What are some of your favorite foods at the park? I usually only end up getting a hot dog out of tradition. I know our food's the best, and I just want some new suggestions. I got to break out of tradition and try some new things on Saturday. you better or else *shakes fist -brats/dogs. Both have to be with onions. -churro -souvenir cup ( i seriously have about 10 of these, it's all i use around the house) -corn beef sandwich -Steak pitas are alright -COTTON CANDY -corn behind home plate is good every once and awhile -funnel cake -curly fries -nachos w/ ALOT of peppers those are my favorites that i've tried. These are the things i've tried that I didn't think much of -Chicken stuff in centerfield -Connie's pizza, blah I'll be sure to add more as i think of 'em

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) This just goes back to a post I made a few weeks ago. People just can't seem to get over the hump and beleive in this team. They can't do anything else. You can say win in the playoffs, but obviously that is not in the Sox power right now, we just have to wait and see when the time comes how they do. But as of right now, just enjoy this season, I don't understand how you couldnt. ^ some people are just afraid of getting let down i guess. I've had a terrible summer and the sox are really helping brighten it up. This team is fun, period. That being said, i'm anxious for fall

Sports illustrated and the sporting news are a general american sports mag. The other 2 would probably be better for you, i can't reccomend either since i don't read either though
-
glad you had a nice time, it truly is a nice place to catch a game. too bad your a bucs fan

the guys from other boards are saying heisman isn't as cheap as usual. I might just try and bump up and play default heisman, see how that goes
-
the only wave i ever remotely liked was this year @ assembly hall. It was a blowout against Northwestern, close to the end of the game and the wave started. Dee/Deron/and luth were on the bench and participated. Pretty funny

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) I guess I didn't get your statement then. I thought you were saying the set you posted earlier was pissing you off and you were going to play with the ratings. I don't think you need to change it as drastically as ones you posted because good teams give you a game sometimes, you just need to make it more consistent. i'm just at a crossraods. I played default all american for a bit, was having fun, but the rushing was just way too easy, so i went on search for sliders. All the sliders i've tried have overcomplicated everything and i'm just not having any fun with them. i'm just confused at what i wanna do. let me know if you get satisied with a set of sliders

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) I'd recommend a few changes. First, as you said, drop the human blocking. I'd also drop the human running ability to a 45 (major difference if you drop it to 40). I'd also drop the human receiving and QB accuracy ratings, and maybe increase the CPU knockdown a bit because the deep balls are ridiculous. On the other side, the QB accuracy really needs to get bumped up, Chad Henne was a 99 senior and only had like 60 yards against me. I'd also increase the CPU pass blocking, run blocking, and RB ability, and probably drop the human pass rush. I'm still tinkering with how much to adjust everything. A five percent change doesn't seem to do much (except for CPU running stuff, that seems to help), while the ten percent increase drastically changes things. seems like a regular set of sliders to me.
-
Well, after growing completely frustrated with the slider world, i decided i'm just going to adjust a few things from AA to make the game fun again. Right now all i did was move Human run blocking to 40%. Since that's the only problem i remember w/ default AA. We'll see though.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) I had a feeling that last nights game would have a metriculating (Hawk Word) effect on tonites game. That kind of atmosphere is so much fun, wave or no wave. equidistant = best hawk word

good for baseball, terrible for everything else.

an organized shindig? that's not the soxtalk way. pffft

with success, it happens with every team. No use in complaining about it, nothing you can do. Just know that you get alot more satisfaction out of it than any bandwagon jumper will.
