  1. I picked never and that's fine with me. Keep hitting like you are willie!
  2. I think sox fans should already appreciate what management did w/ mags. They offered him this deal, which is just about the right amount of money, maybe even a bit too much.

No way I'd trade PK right now, he's a cornerstone of this team right now and who would play first? Don't you dare say Hurt.
  4. Without reading this entire thread, here's my 2 cents. Sox management gave Mags a very fair, reasonable deal, he declined, let's move on. But if we stay in the race, keep mags until the end of the season, especially if he's playing like he is now. Let him play his stretch with us, then let him go.
  5. I agree, the only desperate need the sox have right now is that 5th starter. 2b-covered by uribe, cf-covered by harris and our BP will be fine. The emergence of shingo is really what we needed and we got it. Get that 5th starter and the sox are a very complete team.

    mine too. Can't stand ringtones.
  7. Wright = 2 star player, he's doing decent, 5th start material, around a 4 ERA Burke = 1 star player, but played well last season, took olivo out of the starting role. I'll be looking to trade for a catcher soon.
  8. Sox 2006 Lineup. 2b: Orlando Hudson SS: Mark Derosa 1b: Paul Konerko DH: Timo Perez (STUD! 2nd place for batting champion in 2005) CF: Joe Borchard RF: Miguel Cabrera LF: Reed 3b: Crede C: Burke Pitching Rotation: Edwin Jackson Kevin Milwood (22 game winner in '05) Wilson Alvarez Mark Buehrle Dan Wright Closer: Damaso Marte
  9. Nope 2005 season: we finished 81-81, but have a strong promise. Reed and Borchard both batted above .300 in their first full seasons. and Edwin Jackson (that stud prospect SP) was called up in the middle of the season and finished with a sub 2 ERA. After the offseason he changed from a max blue star player to a max-.5 gold star player. All i had to trade for him was Shingo, E-lo, and koch too 2006 should be fun.
  10. meh...I honestly couldn't care less about autographs.

  12. I know this is for all of you w/ "real jobs" but I voted anyway I gotta work 12-6 today.
  13. awesomeness cheat.
  14. Both, that's the beauty. You can "manage" the games if you want to. (calling hit and runs, steals, pinch hitting, pinch running) or you can just sim weeks at a time and focus on the rosters.
  15. I started a white sox dynasty the other day where I basically just play a GM role. (That's the greatness of this game, if you wanna be a manager, you can manage each every game, if you just wanna deal with rosters/finances and be a GM, you can just sim) Well in july, the sox were 10 games out so I went nuts. Traded mags, shingo, loaiza, lee, rowand, koch, valentin, wunsch and basically anyone who was going to be released later that year. I got 2 stud pitching prospects from LA, M. Cabrera from florida (Traded mags for him straight up) along with a few decent position prospects. My outfield now consists of Reed in left, borchard in center, and cabrera in right. Pretty studly. Honel's struggling right now in the rotation and the 2 prospects from LA play in AA for a bit. I'm looking to spend some big bucks in the offseason on some infielders and a few decent starts and I should have a decent team.
  16. but i've had the game since march.
  17. god damn do i suck, just lost 2-1 in 13 innings to the mets. Just to make matters worse, the game i managed after that i lost 6-5. GOD f***ING DAMN
  18. .348's pretty damn good. Look at my Record in my sig, i'm terrible.
  19. :puke Well this was bound to happen sooner or later, the sox were just getting too lucky avoiding injuries. If he's hurt, don't joke around, put him on the DL and bring up Borchard/Reed
  20. if we're going best baseball game of all time, mine is: world series baseball for sega genesis, the original. So damn awesome, I was 8 at the time and played that game to death.
  21. I don't think it's the big L today thats pissing everyone off. It's the notion that every 5th day, we are basically forfeiting the game. Something has to be done.......soon
  22. Wow, i had to go to work in the 3rd and come home to see all this insanity.
  23. MVP this year. no questions asked.

Barraco's = godliness. There's a small one over here in crestwood, my family orders it at least once a week. Giordano's we try and get every once and awhile too.
  25. Wow, sox get a huge break.
