Offseason Targets
Not gonna lie, Yu Darvish is a pretty attractive dude. It would add to our already good looking group of guys.

He isn't good defensively. Blackmon is paid 18.3m per year on average for 3 more years. He will be 34-36 during these years. He has a .747 OPS away from Coors. I'm not paying that dude 18m a year for 3 years when he is that old. The Sox wouldn't take him for free.

It would hurt filling the RF and SP holes both with a trade of prospects, given that Hahn has stated that the money saved during the rebuild years would be spent in the future. That trade would be prospect heavy IMO.

Offseason Targets
This this this. I feel like a broken record talking about this point. All these guys we are listing in potential trade are basically MLB ready. They are much less likely to bust. At the time of the Sale trade, it wasn't even a sure thing Kopech would stay a starter. Moncada's hit tool had some major question marks due to his strikeout rate. The bust potential was much higher.

You said Cease was top 50. That article clearly has him at 58. Your statement that he was top 50 is fake news.

The rankings you gave were also incorrect. The prospect rank you gave for Dylan Cease was fake news

Offseason Targets
Q put up 4.9, 4.3, and 4.9 fWAR in the seasons leading up to that trade. Marquez has 1 season above 4, with a 4.1 fWAR two seasons ago. Cease was in A and Eloy was in A+ during those trades. They weren't close to being MLB ready. I would bet that Vaughn and Kopech together put up a similar WAR total to Marquez NEXT season, even with service time gaming. You're doing our prospects dirty, Balta. Hahn should get tarred and feathered if he trades Vaughn and Kopech for Marquez

Offseason Targets
Eloy was top 10 and Cease was barely top 100. They also weren't major league ready. Madrigal, Cease, Dunning gives you 3 major league ready players. Madrigal and Dunning are almost sure things to stick as starters. Cease still has ace potential. I think the Rockies accept that deal.

Offseason Targets
Cease was not at Kopech's level during the trade. Eloy then was comparable to Vaughn now in value. Vaughn and Kopech are both major league ready. Neither Eloy or Cease were. Cease, Dunning, Madrigal is fair I would say

Yep, it is just a poor fit for a trade. You need to find a rebuilding team IMO. I still think Marquez is your best bet. His numbers are really impressive away. He's a great #2, possibly a #1

Offseason Targets
Madrigal, Cease, Dunning is as far as I would go for Snell. The problem is you are trying to snag an ace from a competitive team. You're better off trying to acquire an ace from a rebuilding team. Going for Marquez from the rockies makes more sense.

Offseason Targets
This is easily more than the Sale trade, and it's not even close. 4 players that are MLB ready next year and all have all star potential? Rick Hahn should be fired if he offers a trade like that. Sheesh

Offseason Targets
Madrigal Cease Vaughn are 3 major league ready players. Cease obviously needs work, but he has ace potential still. Madrigal and Vaughn are locks to be above average at their positions IMO. Kopech was no guarantee to be a starter during the time of the trade, and Moncada did have some question marks as to whether his strikeout rate would allow him to hit enough in the majors.

Offseason Targets
I hate giving up all those prospects in a deal for a pitcher, but I would understand the trade. It just seems a little heavy. You've got 2 MLB ready players who project to be above average at their positions, and a pitcher with ace potential.

Offseason Targets
Would any of you include Dane Dunning in Musgrove trade? Dunning had some great starts at the beginning of the season. Stuff isn't too overwhelming. He needs great command to be effective. Might be the time to sell high on him.

Sox claim Emilio Vargas
Was this guy snagged in the rule 5 draft? I thought the same thing. I see no reason to dislike this move.

Garrett Crochet
Very excited to see the Crotch Rocket in action again. You know he'll be up if they make the playoffs.

This will be an off-season like none other....
Regarding the 1994 strike, how big of a part did Reinsdorf play in it? No more or less than the other owners? Imagine another strike during a season where the Sox are a favorite to win it. Depressing.
