QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 09:21 PM) Montas 5 IP, 1 hit, 1 unearned run, 1 bb, 1 k 60 pitches Wish there were more strikeouts but he obviously pitched real well still.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 09:04 PM) lol Joba f***ing with the ump. That was great lol.

QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:49 PM) Eh, I could see Ale' getting offered Arb. He actually turned it around the past couple months. Agreed.

Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 2m Hahn on more moves Sunday: "Deadline is 11 o’clock tomorrow. So we are going to keep working and exploring some opportunities." 11am or 11pm? And are more deals in the work? For the sake of the Sox and Dunn, send him to a contending team to finish his career.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) Scot Gregor @scotgregor · 2m Hahn says trading Beckham, De Aza frees up $10 million-plus for 2015 that can go to other players Give some of that to James Shields.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:31 PM) For AA, correct? Yes

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:31 PM) Orioles acquired OF Alejandro De Aza from the White Sox for RHPs Miguel Chalas and Mark Blackmar. De Aza has good speed and can play all three outfield positions, making him a nice addition to the Baltimore bench for the stretch run. The 30-year-old was batting .243/.309/.354 with 15 stolen bases in 122 games this season for the White Sox. He'll be arbitration-eligible for the third and final time this winter. Chalas and Blackmar are non-prospects. Source: Eduardo A. Encina on Twitter Guess he doesn't watch baseball

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) Is sierra even back yet? Rehab assignment in AAA.

QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:26 PM) Blackmar is a fastball/changeup guy who tops out at around 94, has a two seaver in the high 80's with life. Phil Blackmar, PGA golfer, is his dad. That's pretty interesting. Thanks for that.

Oh wow. Montas is starting tonight instead of tomorrow. 2IP 1 unearned with 1 K. Defense has 2 errors so far.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:20 PM) Blackmar has had a pretty decent season in A+. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=blackm002mar Chalas..... shares a birthday with my dad. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=chalas001mig Yeah I can see Blackmar (22) in AA next season with those numbers. And Chalas (22) is a reliever in AAA. Walks batters but only has given up 1 hit in 7 innings in AAA.

Great play by Sanchez

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 06:30 PM) Hug watch? Wilkins called up. Trade Dunn, trade Dunn, trade Dunn......

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 06:29 PM) https://twitter.com/thejosh20/status/505858597788848129 Let's go!!!!

Rodon gives up 2 hits in the first but strikes out 2 and doesn't give up any.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Illini bball has a committ They didn't get a commit from Brunson yet?

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 02:15 PM) If Sale starts 32 games next year, he's winning a Cy. Period. Completely agree. I really feel like he was toying with the Tigers today. He was usually 89-91 in an at bat then with 2 strikes lets break out the nasty slider or go hard at 95-96 lol.

Montas activated and promoted to AA. Starts tomorrow.

Anderson and Ravelo both 1-1

Tanner Banks making his debut with Kanny. Lefty starter that was drafted this year.

If anyone noticed, it looks like RHP Storm Throne has been released. He is not on any White Sox minor league roster.

Mitchell staying hot too. 1-1 2B, BB

Same to think about within the first 5 rounds next year. Kevin Duchene LHP from Illinois. Real good pitcher and did very well in the cape cod league this past summer.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 29, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) Dee needs to become an assistant coach as soon as he hangs em up. I completely agree. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 29, 2014 -> 08:47 AM) Is he still trying to make it overseas? Yes. Also, Rick Brunson (Jalen's dad) said if Jalen feels comfortable with the school, he'll pull the trigger and commit. That came out 2 days ago. I like what I'm hearing right before the official. Illinois is in this thing.
