Frare pitching right now down in AAA, so not going to be him for the 26th man. The only other 40 man options are Hamilton and Vieira. Vieira just optioned earlier today, but maybe he's hanging around for the nightcap. Hamilton probably needs more tuning in AAA after his short ST and rough start. Other 40 man options Stephens, Medeiros and and Cease have all pitched very recently, so not going to be them.

Yah, I don't see it. Maybe they bring Cease up for 1 start and send him back, but they're not cutting Nova yet and they need to give Banuelos at last a few more chances to start. I don't think they bring Cease up until he'll be up for good. So that likely either means cutting Nova, trading Rodon (doubt that happens), Banuelos gets shelled a few starts in a row or someone gets hurt.

Kind of bizzare to chose Vieira over Ruiz. Vieira hasn't even pitched in a game since being recalled on Sunday am. In any event, Sox have 9 relievers on the roster right now and will likely have 10 for the 2nd game tonight. One will have to go back to Charlotte tomorrow, and another one when Giolito comes off the IL soon.

Lol, there is a large difference between controlling a player for 6 seasons, and controlling a player for 1.5 seasons of non-competing baseball. Stroman is a fine SP, but he's not worth giving up 3 top 10-15 types prospects for, as you proposed, IMO.
