  1. Thankfully we may have another one of those in a couple months.
  2. Tilson isn't going anywhere. He'll be an option later this season. Let him try to stay hot down in AAA. He shouldn't be playing over any of Eloy, Garcia or Cordell right now.
  3. At least that guy has 1 above average MLB skill. Tilson likely has none.
  4. The Sox will do better than Montgomery when they trade Colome.
  5. Yah, but that could be a determining factor in another team acquiring him or not.
  6. Alonso on pace for 660 plate appearances, well in excess of the 526 required to meet the $8M vesting option. At this point, is seems like the Sox would prefer to have him next season for $9M as opposed to paying him his $1M buyout.
  7. What is the point in spending money on Gio though? We've got Rodon, Lopez, Giolito who all need their 30 starts. Nova and Santana. Banuelos if/when needed. Will need another spot for Cease in a couple months. I just don't see the need to add a veteran starter unless its literally for like $1M, or someone gets injured soon. Let the younger guys get their innings.
  8. Kirilloff and Lewis will not be in the big leagues early next year.
  9. You're right. He is not going to be "free". He is free to sign with the highest bidder, or whomever he likes. He did not sign a guaranteed contract whereby he can now only get the MLB min.
  10. Meh. The Twins window is now. They'll compete with the Sox on the front end of the Sox window, but they'll be rebuilding again well before the Sox window closes. They also are going to have a major pitching issue very soon. Berrios is a stud, and Graterol should be interesting enough, but that is really all they have. Maybe Gonsalves is an ok back end guy. Romero will be reliever. All of Odorizzi, Pineda, Gibson, and Perez will be FA this coming fall. That is 80% of their rotation. Kiriloff and Lewis are nice on the position player side, but their current core of Rosario, Buxton and Sano will be at FA or damn near by the time those guys arrive. Twins will flirt with 84-88 win range next 3 seasons or so, but I am not super duper concerned about them turning into anything fantastic or long lasting.
  11. You think there is any chance he falls to 3, Dirty? I know you follow this stuff closely.
  12. Is Rutchsmann considered a very good defensive C?
  13. That would seem to be best case scenario for the Sox to nab the #1 prospect at #3, similar to Rodon siutation.
  14. What is everyone's obsession with Vaughn? I know he mashes college pitching and all, but you really want to use a top 3 pick on a 1B? Give me Rutschman, Abrams and Witt over Vaughn. Sidenote: I do not follow college baseball closely.
  15. It is definitely time to try someone else. Cordell is eligible to return today - a little surprised they didn't make the move. Palka still has an option and can go down to Charlotte and work through it. He'll be back.
  16. Yes, he missed first half of the year with a broken collarbone. Wasn't really ever able to get his groove back upon his return.
  17. Yep. Need like an 11-5 stretch, though that seems like a pipedream.

Doesn't seem to be a timetable for Jay's return at this point.

I feel for the kid. But at this point, they need to let him go find his swing down in AAA. He is definitely interesting enough to keep in the organization I think he has a chance to be a strong side platoon DH and occasional OF, but his time to go to AAA has passed IMO. He has an option remaining - what are the Sox waiting for? Perhaps waiting for the 10 days to elapse since they demoted Cordell. I believe he's eligible to return on Wednesday.
  20. “average hitters”? Lol oh my
