The other alternative was to have Cordell sit on the bench yesterday and not play, and then option him today instead of yesterday. They got a freebie for a day and used it.

The lack of understanding with regards to fairly basic roster management is somewhat astounding. Not that the Sox deserve much credit or benefit of the doubt. But this one is pretty simple to understand.

Lol. He was called up yesterday for 1 reason and 1 reason only. That was to pitch as much as he was needed to save the bullpen that had been taxed all weekend. They were going to option Cordell for Santana today, so they figured they may as well get a fresh bullpen arm for a day. Fulmer was that guy. That was the master plan. That is it. Not that complicated. Fulmer will be back.

Would prefer to see Rondon get an extended look.

Brandon Guyer is a 33 year old journeyman. Austin is 6 years younger, controllable long term for cheap and is a much better power hitter than Guyer. He's nothing that exciting, but he's definitely worth taking a flier on for nothing in return. That being said, it is unlikely that Austin will even make to the Sox waiver priority.

Twins just DFAd Tyler Austin. Would be perfect platoon mate for Alonso. Another 1B/DH type but he can play some RF, but not well.

I think I I’m ready to say that Eloy is not a good defensive pOF. Hopefully he can improve cause it’s not been pretty (SSS).
