  1. Nice. Since they optioned Viera, we should still have another guy coming up for the night game. Probably someone on the 40 man though. Frare maybe.
  2. Because he likely has more value as a 3B than a corner OF....and he's pretty young to be giving up on him as a 3B. Perhaps he's so awful it makes sense, but I hadn't heard that.
  3. Noticed Bush is in RF the last couple days. Are the Sox giving up on him as a 3B already?
  4. Maybe. Just seems like he gets a least 2 days off per week.
  5. Lol, wildly different scenarios. If he is hitting .400 in AA come June 15th, then we'll talk about rushing him to the big leagues.
  6. Why does Collins get so many off days? Its insane.
  7. Who are the guesses for 26th man? I am going to go with Evan Marshall. Yet to give up a run in AAA. Open spot on the 40 man. Hasn't pitched since the 27th, so is fresh. Ruiz goes down to AAA tomorrow and Marshall stays.
  8. That.......is a meaningful difference.
  9. That's fair. If he terrorizes the Southern League for the next 60 days, you cross that bridge then.
  10. That seems like a ton for a pitcher that isn't really that good, and is paid appropriately. 2 years $18-20M left on his deal. I am not giving up that much. I am also not a huge Stroman guy. He's a fine mid to back rotation pitcher with some swagger but he's not that good either.
  11. A shit load. And he isn't going anywhere. I am not suggesting he get 1,000 at bats. He spend the rest of this season and the first month or so of next season, he'd maybe get another 450 at bats or so IF (a big if) he stays healthy. He'd still be well shy of 1,000 at bats. Obviously that is not a cut off, and Robert is probably the best CF option in the organization, but rushing him to the big leagues just seems so short sighted. Just let him excel his way up the minor league system. WTF is the rush?
  12. 2-0 today and I wasn't too far off.
  13. Tim Anderson had 1,372 minor league at bats. Yoan Moncada, while definitely rushed by the Red Sox, and probably brought up half a season too early by the White Sox, had 1,020 minor league bats. Luis Robert has 345 minor league at bats. If he plays the rest of the season in minors and the first month next season (and stays healthy), he'll still be well behind TA and Yoan.
  14. I dont have a cutoff. If he's raking and staying healthy through June, I am ok challenging him. But I don't think rushing Robert to the big leagues to satisfy impatient fans is a good strategy. The guy has played very little baseball over the past 3 years. He just needs to stay healthy and get his reps.
  15. I mean if the guy hits .450 in AA, you bring him up. If he takes a step back, does well, but isn't lighting the world on fire like he did A+, I don't see the point in pushing him to the big leagues this season.
  16. The fact that he is 350 pro at bats is a pretty good reason to not rush him to the big leagues, IMO.
  17. No doubt. Could also be a cause for his early season struggles. Definitely not ideal.
  18. The Sox don't need to promote him until OD 2021. There is plenty of time. But yes, he needs to stay on the field. Anyone know how serious the current injury is?
  19. Way too much time to be giving up hope on Adolfo. He's still recovering from TJS. Obviously hoping the current injury is minor.
  20. You think Trevor Larnach is going to go from unranked to a top 3 prospect in baseball? edit: ahhh, I see you clarified later.
  21. Adolfo will not be out of options until the 2021 season. He can still spend another 1.75 years in the minors. That should be plenty of time for him to sink or swim.
  22. I mean, he’s hurt right now. And I don’t believe he’s played any OF to this point due to his elbow, which I believe is his current injury. Not super encouraging, but I am still a big Adolfo fan. They’re gonna get him his abs when he’s healthy.
  23. Yah, I just want all 5 of those guys getting as many ABs as possible. Hard to do with them all on the same roster.
