  1. At least Dunn always took his walks. Even when he hit .159 that season in 500 PAs, his OBP was .292.
  2. "Lonzy is a veteran. We just need to keep plugging him in out there. He's a clean up hitter. He's our clean up hitter. He's been having some great at bats lately. Seeing some pitches. Working some count. Real professional. We love Zo." -Ricky, most likely
  3. He actually only needs to 526.
  4. Great analysis. His OPS+ of 110 and WRC+ of 109 in over 415 at bats in 2018 suggests otherwise. He is a limited player, no doubt. But he could be a useful platoon bat in the big leagues.
  5. Daniel Palka will almost certainly be back. OPSing .950 in AAA. OBP over .400. SSS, yes. But so was his awful stretch to start the season. I am not a Palka bobo by any means, but I'd way rather him get the DH at bats than Alonso.
  6. When the site updated, the usernames reverted back to originals. I think you can now change it yourself in your account settings.
  7. Sox won't be offering Abreu a QO. The QO will be well in excess of what he'll get on an AAV basis.
  8. I don't know, but I will shoot you an email when I find out!
  9. What is wrong with Leury as a leadoff man? He's a better option than Anderson IMO. He's been great there.
  10. Main issue I have with the lineup is continuing to blindly bat Alonso 4th. Move the dude down, FFS.
  11. Remillard is not really a prospect is he? Just an org guy? Noticed they've bounced him all around the field this season.
  12. I also like the idea of calling up Collins to take Yonder's at bats because it gives the Sox a little more flexibility to DH McCann and Castillo. Castillo should be in the lineup against all LHP, preferably at DH. McCann can catch the majority of the time against RHP, with Collins DHing (or at 1B), and Collins can fill it at catcher occasionally.
  13. Moncada 3B, Delmonico LF, Abreu 1B, Alonso DH, Castillo C, Tilson CF, Anderson SS, Sanchez 2B, Cordell RF Leury must be banged up, or something.
  14. Bumgarner is going to want to stay in the NL. Not to say he won't go to an AL if they pay the most, but his preference will be to stay in the NL.
  15. Yah. Obviously was a rough start for Palka. But he's been playing well in AAA last 10 days or so. He'll definitely be back and he actually has a somewhat small chance to be a part of the future. Alonso has none. It'd moreso be Palka for Alonso.
  16. SSS, but he hasn't been good against lefties this season either. 6.2 IP, 9 hits, 5 BB. 5.40 ERA, 2.10 WHIP and .310 average against. Last season he held lefties to a .159 average with a 41/12 K:BB ratio, so hopefully some of it is just SSS and rough start this season.
  17. Robert isn't coming up anytime soon. How about we DFA Alonso, option Nicky and Cordell and call up Collins and Palka, and re-instate Eloy. vs. RHP: Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Eloy LF, Collins DH, Anderson SS, Palka RF, Yolmer 2B vs. LHP: Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Eloy LF, Castillo DH, Anderson SS, Rondon RF, Yolmer 2B Collins can occasionally catch in place of McCann and play 1B instead of Abreu against RHP. Collins on the roster gives Ricky more flexibility to DH McCann and Castillo regularly when not catching. RF defense sucks I guess. Could keep Cordell up and send Tilson back to AAA and play Cordell in RF versus LHP. Helps the defense. Tilson would be true 4th OF based on the above, so wouldn't get much PT with Palka back on the roster.
  18. Medeiros has been pretty awful with the Sox. Have to imagine his 40 man spot will be in serious jeopardy in the coming months, and that could quickly signal the end of his time with the Sox org.
  19. I am 2/2 in game threads this season. I must be good luck. No lineups yet. Lopez versus Bieber. Let's win this one.
  20. Rutherford will have to be added to the 40 man this December as well.
  21. I would give the Sox a ton of credit if they DFA'd Alonso and brought back Palka. I don't see them cutting ties with Alonso this quickly, but I would applaud them. I was not one of the people who blasted the Alonso trade as I felt he fit a roll at only slightly over his market value. But he's been terrible, and I want nothing to do with him on this team next season. His $9M is a sunk cost. I expect him to improve, but at this point, just move on. Him and Abreu create such a lack of flexibility.
  22. Interesting idea. I would guess Washington's price would not be cheap. Rutherford and Fulmer, I would do the deal for sure. I'd probably do Gonzalez and Fulmer too. Other combos I would likely pass. Also - my guess is the Sox aren't super interested in Eaton based on the Drakegate, etc.
