For all we know Hahn doesn't want to relocate his family or really wants to see his rebuild through despite having his hands tied by ownership. We actually don't know anything of the level to which he may or may not be in demand by other organizations.
Wow, so a little worse in 1 run games, but much better in close games decided by 2-5 runs. This year's record looks propped up by a 10-2 record in blowouts all the more now.
I hate putting someone that slow in the 2 hole, but maybe the heart of the order can drive those walks in. It's not like we are getting great production there to begin with.
Turning the lineup over is a fair point that I hadn't considered in my post. I suppose there is value in those walks if it brings the the top of the order up faster.
Basically this. He had a fantastic first half one year here and then was pretty meh after. Other than his chemistry with Giolito I don't think the team is missing much of anything with him playing elsewhere, and I say that as a huge fan of his time in a Sox uniform.
I would be really curious to know how many of those walks end up as the 1st out of a double play or ended up as one more man left on base. His walks aren't outs, but they often feel more like empty calories instead of quality offensive contributions.
