That is what I recall as well. Fun for an intrasquad summer camp game, but not something I think we will ever see once games count.

By all means give the kid reps at 3rd in camp and with the taxi squad. But it doesn't look like Vaughn has played a single game at 3rd in his college or pro career so far. If worst case Moncada doesn't play (hypothetically), then perhaps you take a chance that his bat covers for his lack of reps on D. Just doesn't seem likely to me.

Leury, Mendick, Romine, and even Madrigal would be in line to cover 3rd before Vaughn. No reason to burn service time.

Sox making the playoffs in 2000 is what started to bring me back post strike and white flag trade. I can't say I watched many games though ??.

I'm pretty sure I saw him in the dugout last summer later in the season. I know he wasn't with the team 24/7 during rehab, but I never read anything into it.

Has there been any actual clarity on what the Sox plan to do? Yes? No? Any further info from the Mayor and or Governor? Can we change the title to reflect that a Cubs fan radio blowhard suggested that the Sox might allow fans into park, but has no real intel to back his baseless statement instead?

Forgive me if this has been explained elsewhere, but Taxi Squads are basically just practice squads, correct? No actual games against other Taxi Squads? Lots of practice reps and simulated game action? But everyone is on the ready to get called up if need be? Very curious to see how top prospects are handled in order to maximize as much development as possible w/o actual Minor League competition.

60 games is better than 0 games for the Sox young talent. Not losing out on a whole year of development is all I really care about at this point.
