Jose Abreu

Still a lot better than the biggest offseason move being Kelvin Herrera.

I could be wrong but I remember hearing that they would not trade Soto

I thought this to be the case but it hasn’t stopped other FOs from publicly discussing their standing with Harper

Leads one to believe that his excuse might actually be legitimate

Yeah, this. He was wrong about various Machado tidbits many times

NFL free agency starts soon. Maybe the Bears sign a running back who complements Cohen?

Totally understandable given what just happened with Machado. I still tend to believe that the front office can't be this bad, so I'm holding out hope that they're still in.

For most players, yes. For a Boras client, not necessarily.

How can one even say that? In order to be in "stealth mode", there would be next to no leaks about anything... which is exactly what is happening. For you to be right, there would have to be tons of leaks and info out there regarding the Sox right now

Probably a little too early to bring these back but nobody agreed with me and I'm enjoying the mess that is the Lakers right now...

It’s also J. Michael Robertson’s birthday...

That's what I was getting at. It's actually pretty obvious what's going on right now. Highly doubt that the Sox get anything done though.

Really crazy that Bob Nightengale and Bruce Levine are the only ones reporting that.

To be fair, he didn't say that he expected Machado to sign with the White Sox, he said that Machado will sign with the White Sox. Don't let him off the hook

I've always thought he might be. He puts out positive articles about us like this every year.

If Madrigal and/or Robert see major league playing time in 2019, then the FO is way worse than I would have ever imagined

Either to get more money out of Philly, or they really aren't the frontrunners and are being used to increase interest among other teams

You really had to put this in the Harper thread?
